what about a winner takes all knockout (ranked players only)no points no lose of rank just bragging rights alone to say you had beet the best would give ppl insentive to join give a certain lenght of time to enter maybe 2 days (or 50 ppl max) and the knockout played over the following 5 days once a week ,think it would encourage newbies to stop on the siteto play games and gain rank so they could join and im sure most of the ranked players would like to enter just to say the they beat the best

Funkypool still is good, without a doubt the best pool site there will ever be on the internet, hence the reason everyone on this thread still keeps logging in!!
I have said before tho there is far to many tournaments now, change it back to one an hour and then there would be loads more people waiting to play normal ranked games and it might bring some members back if tournaments were worth winning again, can't see it happening to be honest!!

It's true what you are saying but lack of advertisement seems a major factor....
Yeah you can do word of mouth etc but some people create a account log in and get totally whooped in say there first 5 games and feel what's the point.
Maybe keep all the tournaments but have them as selected rank.
ie
600 - 700 8US
700 - 800 8US
800 + 8US
etc etc
Still have a few open rank tourneys too

After all i did ask for the 20 mins log out reminder (60 seconds to comply) and it got implemented and i bet it has helped loads of people

Agreed about the advertising, I don't care tho to be honest I just think it would be much better reducing the amount of tournaments so they are actually worth winning!!
Nick is obviously making plenty of money as it is hence the reason he doesn't bother advertising!!

I don't know about making a lot of money but I'm pretty sure he must be breaking even for him to keep both sites running.
I do agree that the advertising is lacking a bit and the userbase is dropping greatly. I might have a talk to Nick and see about getting a hold of the twitter account and the official Facebook one and get the ball rolling on social media advertising. It'd be a shame to see this site die.

Finally someone that agrees . Facebok is one if the biggest methods of advertising these days. A revamp of the Facebook page has got to be done . I for one will have no problem inviting everyone on my friends list to like the page.

good luck getting a reply a twitter page would be good though i use it to check news of call of duty and other things.
i would share to facebook but half of my friends don't play this and might take the michael if they see a notification, twitter is different though.
