If less people enter who often drop out of tournies for any reason in all likelihood there will be fewer byes and less waiting around for no shows....

Hopefully this will mean only those who intend to do the tournie will be in round one and those that need to drop out before round one can. Yes there will be still a few 'no shows' and 'those that need to drop out later in the tournie for whatever reason' but the end result should benefit those who remain in the tournie with hopefully less waiting around....

Maybe the option to drop out before the next round gets drawn as well? At least up until the semi-final or final.

That stops people 'no showing' on the basis of who their opponent is.

I dont believe players should be discouraged from entering more than one tournament at a time if they want - but at some stage they either need to take a decision on which one to stick with and withdraw from the other, or take the default point loss if they arent able to make an 'invite'.

i would say until quarter finals but i totally agree with both points, as sometimes im playing friends and decide i dont want to play in the tournament.

Ok tournies today that i never bothered playing was the uk ranked, at this time i was also in the 8 us marathon ranked, i joined Uk because it looked like i was heading out of the 8 us tourny and even if i aint i always join incase so i can have a pop at the next tourny just incase, it's always been a motive of mine, yet when in the us i seemed to get pretty far and chose not to go to the UK one so i lost ranking points.

Isnt fair imo i just entered in case I lost in the US 8 ball, yet im punished for thinking ahead, and i could have easily beat my opponent no offence. So iv lost ranking points that really i havnt lost, i don't mean to be aggressive but im very mad at this and i have done well to not swear lol.

If nick etc wants me to further go into detail message me cos i dont want to get to mad on a forum.

Ban second accounts and make all Tournies ranked - I understood that multiple accounts were not allowed anyway.

Agree totally ith the banning of multiple accounts, but could prove very difficult where there are genuine IP address sharing, ie same family.

Where the account is blatantly a second account of a user, they should be banned.

I wont repeat the comment that I received yesterday when I confronted the user reagring this!

Bit unfair al_ saying make all tournaments ranked ,what about those who dont wish to play ranked games. At least this way members have an option on ranked or non ranked tournaments.
