Won the marathon UK ranked tournie today but lost out on rank -3 pts. I look forward to the win bonus structure that was discussed recently for ranked tournaments.....

hi people i want to know if you have 2 accounts because the rules state one min you can have 2 accounts and the next breath says you cant
Each user should have no more than ONE account. Any user that has more than one username, could have their secondary or higher usernames banned without warning. Ordinarily we will not check for multiple accounts but when any funkypool rule is broken, we may take action against all accounts.
this says you can
this bit said if your found = posting
Posting under multiple accounts on the forum will lead to any secondary or higher usernames being banned.
this rules must be made more clearer for all users so people
can understand it

Quote from above " i want to know if you have 2 accounts "
Do you really think that members are going to tell you if they have multiple accounts on the forum?

I think the word 'can' might be missing Jim.
Each user should have no more than ONE account
Not really sure how you would word it any clearer than that. It's a rule that as a signed up member you should agree to adhere to. If you dont then you have to accept that there is the chance that action may be taken if your breach is identified for whatever reason.

There are no words missing from the text extracted from the previous post.
This was a clear statement from an experienced member requesting, that:
"hi people i want to know if you have 2 accounts because the rules state one min you can have 2 accounts and the next breath says you cant "

Well then answer is in chris's post :
Not to mention, it has been in the rules from day one!
I have never understood the myths that have always circulated surrounding this very simple and perfectly written rule.

Like i always say admins don't investigate unless there is a major problem.
how can you determine if its the same member or another family member, simple words, YOU CANT unless they own up to it.
the rule about not being able to post under 2nd accounts is also wrong in my view as it could have been a family member.
shouldn't be punished for doing nothing wrong.
and if you don't cheat, 2nd accounts are alright.
i think this discussion is way past ranked tournaments now.

What people SHOULD consider is that this is a family site.
Two people in a family, under the same roof and on the exact same connection does not warrant any punishment in any way.
Also, it is not impossible to be a first time user on here and become a great player almost instantly.
We and funkypool/funkysnooker staff will never know weather two people are the same or not.

Hi Nick
Are you going to introduce a win bonus for ranked tournies as many top ranked players seem to shy away from ranked tournies at the moment or as previously mentioned a win bonus per game?
Say 5 ranking pts for winning tournie?

thats what ive been saying all along
as people have said, it doesnt work on the current ranking system as the magical 1000 rank which is impossible would be made possible.

it would still be a struggle - even winning ranked tournies you can easily lose pts as I proved today.....

true but it still wouldn't work really with the current rank system.
anyways here is the thread i was talking about:

What you are suggesting maybe ok for you,but what about someone like me.I don't shy away from tournaments, its just that i literally dont have time to complete them,so i don't enter. Most tournies take over an hour, and because of my job and family commitments i can't spend as much time as i would like on here.I only go on here a couple of times a day,and not for long mostly. So I don't see why I should be penalised because I don't spend all day at their pc.I got in to the top 10 fair and square ,playing all ranks and wouldn't be happy to see tourny winners gaining an advantage.

Well my last post was to encourage other high ranks to enter ranking tournies. I have done 5 so far (won 4 and lost in semi in one). I won the uk marathon tournie yesterday but still lost ranking pts as at very high ranking levels you virtually have to win every game to avoid losing points overall. So very high ranks have little to gain and lots to lose in ranking tournies at present. That is why we are seeing some high ranked players use a second account to play ranked tournies, thus protecting their main account rank!!
If some sort of win bonus is introduced (whether per game or overall) you could still lose rank by winning a hard fought tournie but at least there is some reward for winning...
