Funky rules state:

Am I allowed multiple accounts?
Each user should have no more than ONE account. Any user that has more than one username, could have their secondary or higher usernames banned without warning. Ordinarily we will not check for multiple accounts but when any funkypool rule is broken, we may take action against all accounts.

Surely there is no burden of proof - at best 'balance of probability' should suffice after all we arent talking criminal action (although some might believe it is )

I'm sure common sense tells in most cases where accounts are the same person, times of use, logging off one account to directly log in to another, identical abilities. All taken together, with other factors, should produce the right result in the vast majority of cases.

And for someone wrongly banned there is the right of appeal or failing that starting from scratch - hardly the end of the world on a free game site.

The trouble is for there to be any point in ranked tournaments at all they all do have to be ranked.

For those not bothered by playing ranked games then winning or losing points shouldnt really matter.

If all tournies were ranked then after a while you will see a true reflection of the rankings. I think this will help those that argue some people only play certain players to keep their rankings high. Having done several ranked tournies recently where you don't choose your opponent I think it is the way forward.

I know Nick is keen..if you look back to page 3 of this post he says "Tournaments should be the flagship games of the sites. If the top ranked players get there without playing tournament games it seems wrong".

Plus the effects caused by these fake newbies/second accounts is negated long term with all ranked tournaments and increased weighting of them compared to normal ranked games.

Key words highlighted there. It's not a bannable offence to have 2 accounts but is if used incorrectly. (I have 2 accounts on this site actually, but that's only because I didn't want anyone taking the damee account as it was originally mine )

That is the proving pount here the secondary accounts can be found out! Logging of a main user only to log on as a secondary account for a ranked tournament, so as not to lose any ranking points on main username!

What's the problem with that though? They ain't cheating as they are just using 1 account for the tournament not two. I see no cheating there and nothing actually wrong apart from it being morally wrong but that's the way it goes.

It doesnt say they have to cheat but there is one rule being broken by having more than one account - that is a fact.

By using the second name to play a ranked tournament specifically then they are going against the spirit of fairplay and also against what Nick, as site owner, sees as the way the ranking system should work on his site. 'Cheating' the intended ranking system if you like although that is arguably too strong a word.

The two together though should be more than sufficient to reasonably warrant action.

And the fact that it says could be banned without warning to me clearly means it is a bannable offence if that is the action staff choose to take. The statement isn't qualified.

Well i think using a second newbie account for tourneys ranked or not is just....

1st point about all ranked tournaments i will always disagree as some people like myself does not want to play ranked tournaments, a mixture of both keeps everyone happy.

2nd point about multiple accounts i also have had more than one account on snooker, i only used it to see how high % i could get in carom by 500 turns. as damien and a good admin buddy of mine - you are allowed a 2nd account but if you cheat in some way then you will be banned.

Entering with a second account wouldn't be a problem if thier rank is similar to their other user name. The problem for me is people ranked in the low 700's or lower who are clearly pro's. Sure they can be beat but they only have to lose 2-1 and they go off with half 5 of your ranking points while you get 2 or so.

I think the only to options in this

1. is for for all rank games you can only be a (Professional) player to enter these Tournaments

2. is for all players in rank Tournament to be premium player only this the only way it can be check

i think if player has 2 accounts long as they dont play yourself
which is called cheating and there dont post in both names i really cant see nothing wrong in my eyes
I always thread all players as the same weather there are newbies our Professional
so i think Professional are going over the top with this if your a very high rank player you should still win

Its an online game, if you lose you lose. Who cares! Jesus get a grip of your lives...if you get angry at losing to a "fake newb" then you need some anger management.

If no one had 2 accounts, there wouldnt be any requirement for these threads to being discussed!

Then there would be no problems regarding secondary accounts
