You're right. The touch paper has been lit, and we've lost the only person on our team that tried to stop arguments! As usual I will plan carefully in advance, and work my posting bans around my 3 holidays!
On the other end of the stick, i predict more rivalry than last season between uprising and firestorm. It really does feel like a choice of who to support between good and evil

I have only skimmed through the comments but here is my opinion .
The deadline is the deadline. And the rule should stick no matter how many people feel it should be given a exempt since it's the beginning of the season. We all knew season was coming. The league can not help that either Ash didn't ask sooner or apples_back or tinie didn't say yes to joining fast enough. Rules are there for situations like this. Ash has gained 2 very good players and should accept the verdict once denied by league runner. If anyone should complain imo is uprising .Since the people they will get to replace the 2 that left will have to wait out a whole fixture. How would it be fair to allow them to play for first fixture with Ash and Uprising still having to wait a full fixture for their replacements to be eligible.
I know i will have hate from people on here for this, but it's how i Feel with no others input. The rules must be upheld or why have rules if we can always bend them!!

That's the whole point in buckjam and myself suggesting the possibility in having a delay (plus no start date ever been mentioned). I'm fully aware the deadline was yesterday - unfortunately through no fault of our own the move was confirmed and the go ahead given slightly after midnight.
Whatever the outcome is Phoenix Revenge has acquired 2 fantastic players and I have zero regrets for doing so. I just think along the same lines as buckjam and apologize for the lateness but more importantly the repercussions it will have on the 'organizing' aspect for the league runner.
Luckily this happened before the actual season has started so the disruption I hope has been kept as minimal as possible. Correct Rules are Rules but since there's been no start date actually stated or specified then I really so not see the problem/issue with allowing 2 players from enjoying their season with their chosen new team from the off.
None of this was to ruin, compromise, spoil Uprising and their season more solely for the integrity and competition of the leagues. All I ask is for the 2 players to be permitted to play from the start of the season, refusal to release and respect their wishes is the main bone of contention here.
Season has the potential to be awesome, many teams looking solid so why not start on good foundations?

Forgive me for presuming qualities of teams here.
SL - Most competitive league, now the clan that had 3 of the top 4 teams including winners of both phases (though by no means dominated the league part) will play with 2 teams, thus covering any weaknesses those teams had and preventing the "stretching" when submitting 3 teams which helped competition. Essentially, lessening the competition.
FBL - Had 3 clans who were within decent touching distance, now will have 2 clans who should probably have a gap over the rest of the field. The top clan won't be stretched over 3 teams and the second clan grows closer to the top one and further from the pack.
FCL - Was a two horse race, now the top two clans should be closer but no one else will have a chance (Granted, nothing has changed here).
It seems almost like cutting off your nose to spite your face. To make the least competitive league slightly more of a two horse race, you would make the league anyone can win a lot less competitive and the middle league that is due to be very competitive will now be less competitive. Where we would've played the full spectrum of players for these two leagues we now can leave our weakest out as subs.
I don't mind who moves where, fair enough. But really players have to stick with the quarantine rules where applicable. Last season Ash has mentioned the forced move against him, that is not being questioned. The players are moving, but like last season they can't play immediately. The only way discompensation would be allowed is if you were struggling for actives which is impossible since the season has just began so you can't have been struggling for part of the season like the clans this rule was used for.
The other point I would respond to was if those players couldn't play for phoenix then it would diminish any victory Uprising have. That is completely backwards. Surely signing 2 players from the top echelon of a team immediately after a season starts gives them a huge disadvantage. It doesn't weaken Phoenix because they aren't their players until they sign. Uprising have no chance to replace those top players for the season when they have gone into the season not looking because of a full squad. It is a handicap for Uprising, and could be seen as a tactical move (though I'm glad this isn't the general consensus).

It would only be an awesome season if there was 4/5 clans in with a chance of winning the FCL ,, there is unfortunately not!
Again rules are rules the lads are great players on their day no doubts but a rule is a rule and it's in place for all

The reason for change of teams was well documented in Sams post. You have 17 still in your team which was only possible if you submitted 3 teams for SL and FBL. If you are now only running with 2 teams a further player needs to leave. I would imagine that increases the workload for Keith as he now has to take another player off the fixtures. There are no mirrors as far as i can see. Just a miffed captain (with every right) digging his heels in regardless.
Oh I concur. My motivation for my stance is because I'm annoyed. However, the "good of the competition" line is absolute nonsense, as two leagues now have one less team, a team that would've challenged in both. And yes, we are now in the unfortunate predicament of having to remove a player from the clan. Which I truly congratulate Ash for. To manage to poach two of our best is quite some feat, but managing to force us to lose another player on top of that is genius! I'm not sure a bigger blow has been struck in clan history? Touche sir!!!
Don't worry, we will pick up your scraps if need be!

Because Sam and Tinie are quarantined its as simple as that, It all depends If Keith allows further additions after the deadline to play for Set One.
If its same as Snooker, then Sam and Tinie would be allowed to play as they got added before Fixture One is released, thats me being honest.
If its where any additions after deadline cannot play for Set One then sorry but Rules would be Rules and you wouldn't be able to change them as would make previous seasons who followed the rule a farce. If it is the later then Sam/Tinie would be quarantined and can't play.
If its like Snooker however then Sam and Tinie could play, all depends on how Keith has done things.

Not happening. I would sever my gonads with a blunt cheese knife before I released either player.
Also Jack, there is no need to delay the season unless Keith is happy to delay it until late April when we get one of our big hitters back.

* The season hasn't even started...why do you keep saying it has zante?
IF it had then obviously I totally agree with you but the fact it hasn't is my point.

Realistically, this move has damaged the potential of two leagues for the sake of Phoenix's chances in the FCL. It offers no benefit to any other team in the FCL, and makes it harder to be competitive for every other clan in the other two leagues.
A delay would cause organisational upheaval, essentially you reschedule the whole season (best case scenario you are just postponing a week, but it isn't necessarily that straightforward if Keith has other provisions in place). Plus, that means the whole league ends up waiting one week for Uprising to try and make signings they ultimately may not make or may need to take from another clan thus causing a knock on effect of the same situation in a week's time.

Yeah i understand that but call me selfish i want it to start now and do not want to wait at all for this to happen.

The season has started, the first set hasn't started. Teamlists have been sent in and the deadline has passed. Thus, transfers must adhere to the rules otherwise the deadline for teamlists would have been the same time as the first fixtures are released.

Also I find it amazing that a team can can swipe two of the best players on the game, one of whom who is now the best player on their team in my opinion, and still play the victim. Unreal.

In 10 years there will be a mini legendary Cliffy about can we wait till then Whats done is done guys i wish Sam and Tinie good luck in their new clan aswell as the entire league i cant wait its gonna be a cracker!

Players move and get poached. It's all fine and part of the game and I accept it. They have to accept that a deadline date for teamlists was set, and they missed it. If they manage to get their inactives to play in the 1st set, they are streets ahead of any team other than Uprising - and it will probably make very little difference. Certainly not worth breaking a rule for, especially a rule that stopped Uprising playing tinie last season! In fact, tinie was with us for months and wasn't eligible for a single game in that time! Worst uprising signing ever!! lol Even onua played a couple!
