All players would play an opponent 1 x US8 arc, 1 x US9 Arc, 1 x US8, 1x US9, 1 x UK8 and 1 x straight = 6

I was actually meaning one of each type so all players had to play a frame of everything to mix things up completely so then you could keep it at 8 players.

If you wanted one player for each type and 6 frames of each apart from straight which would be 4 probably with 2 point for a win, 1 for a draw as current format could work too.

No.. that would be stupid.

Firstly, FBL has always been the league in which players played one type only.
Secondly, whoever got the breaks in the arcades and UK types would be at a massive advantage in a single frame format.

It would need to be alternate break, example you broke in US8 Arc, US9 arc would be me, US8 you, US9 me, UK8 you, Straight me. So it would be the luck of the draw in US8 arc and then alternate thereafter.

How are you meant to control who breaks first?

This would mean players having to leave games and keep re-joining until the correct person is given the break. Something like me and Corsair had to do the other day when he dc'd during a frame.

Yes it would but it is a suggestion to try and change things to try and freshen things up I was not expecting everyone to say that sounds great

Perhaps changing that to 2 frames of each type and then putting the SL back to 6 frames could work...

I increased SL to 9 to try and give players a true frame count and as SL had no straight it fitted better their. But in doing that we lose the short format, thus why I tried a different format in FBL, I like the one of each, snooker do it in the cup and I have to say I like it. Pool is different as we have arcade but as each player gets a break in one of them it is just your luck if you get 9 arcade. Or maybe do 2 of each of the arcade and one of the rest so 8 frames in total would work better. By doing one of each everyone has to play straight and like carom on snooker there are plenty who do not like it........myself included

I just wouldn't be a fan of losing to runouts in arcade's and uk because I didnt get the break.

And I wouldnt be a fan of messing around to give the correct person the break.

But I like the 9 frame SL..

If SL is increased to 9 frames (3 of each type) to give a true frame count league FBL could be reduced to 6 of each with 2 straight to replace the shorter format that was SL.
SL would then be frame count and FBL scoring could remain the same, 2 points for an individual win and 1 for a draw.

You would then have FCL 15 (3 x 5), SL 9 (3 x 3) and FBL 6 (same type) with 2 straight

This way SL is increased like suggested by a few and FBL will only drop by 2 of each type to make it the shorter format.

Especially 9 ball arcade is a game for small children less then 5 years.
