I think 8-10 is better personally, since the longer game eliminates more of the fluke wins
. (especially in my fave type 9 ball ;P) That said, either way I'll play and put the same effort into my games so it doesn't really matter to me.

One more post and I'll shut-up,
Keith said he wants the leagues to please the majority right? Does that not mean 3 very different leagues? One league for each of the most preferred scoring methods or formats? He's mentioned having variety a lot, so I don't think it means majority opinion decides every single league the same way!
The way I see it the 3 most wanted things are (in no certain order):
1. A team match count league with long indiv matches, making it an accurate format.
2. A frame count league with long indiv matches, making it an accurate format.
3.Short indiv matches, so they won't have to spend a long time getting pounded. (keith likes to remind us of this one a lot in his efforts to shorten FBL) Most of these guys, I don't think really care what the scoring system is.
1. has what it wants already in his new FCL (15 frames, considering 12?, not much difference either way though).
3. has what it wants already in SL (6 frames).
Does 3. really need 2 leagues with indiv matches 6 frames long?
2. is still waiting.

moving on then ?
next topic
6 teams has to be the worst for a very long time
not even a team for beginners (fun team)
sadly, this is what crap on threads does to players
they cant be bothered.
so what next ???
I've seen 12 to 13 teams on here
now 6
and people say its down to tournaments
really
try tidying up threads and the obnoxious personal comment's, that go unchecked.
I fear for clan pool now, clans and captains have ruined it
with the rubbish posted, decent folk reading constant crap once the season is underway, default rubbish, the demands for subs etc. then the magical personal abuse
who would hang around.
where do we go from here, I would say a real big shake up is required, but I fear its to late, 6 clans speaks volumes

Lets be honest, the numbers have dropped not from certain captains or how the leagues are run. They have dropped just because the owner doesnt care about this site anymore, simple.

Your personal post last evening has since been moderated so please include yourself with your post Craig. You are equally to blame as are a lot of the others, myself included.
A lot of fixtures result in default for a few simple reasons:
1. Lack of Proper Communication (No 1st messages sent to either player)
2. Lack of Follow Up from either player
3. Players knowing full well the Deadlines are 3 weeks away but either create their own Imaginary Deadline and try to play just when it's convenient for one of the players.
4. Captains reluctance to act or stubbornness.
5. Friends get more relaxed actions, attitudes and approvals therefore encourages inconsistencies
6. Lack of Compromise.
IF we can ALL iron out the above then there would be NO REASON for matches not to get played and the FUN slowly creep back in to clans.
I do think players have a right in how leagues should/could be bettered or improved but we have to respect the time and effort it does take to maintain such leagues in the first place. Ultimately an idea is simply that unless it's put into practice, all down to the League Runners discretion and those who don't respect the changes simply need not to play and spoil it for those who do.
'IF I can change, you can change then WE ALL can Change.' (Rocky IV) - very apt.

I agree with this, if the idea could be having leagues with 15 or 12,6,6 frame formats its not good, we need 15,8,6 like weve had this season in all fairness, so that theres the variety and its horrible if 2 leagues are going to have shorter formats. But the best thing in my opinion is to do something involving a vote to see what is preferred most by everyone.

I'd like the FBL to be absolute minimum of 8 frames, and preferably 10.
Although I agree that a team should never go unbeaten and lose the title to a team they beat - I'd be happy for the FBL to be trialled how Been would like to see it. Should maybe ask around, but I'm convinced the majority of the site prefer longer formats.

If been wants to trial a format like his no one is stopping him from doing it.
You can not have 8 or 10 frames with straight involved in a frame count league it just does not work and the solution of double points for straight frames ruins the whole reason of wanting it be frame count. For a frame count league all frames in all game types would need to be the same.
The 8 or 10 frames everyone knows favours the bigger clans, why do the better clans want formats that gives them little or no competition?
The SL for the last couple of seasons has provided more shock results and greater competition than any other but in the end the best teams has still came out on top, everyone keeps saying they want a more competitive competition yet all the posts from the top teams / players are quite clear that they want long formats to favour them and prevent this happening.

Personally i want bigger formats cause i cant be bothered arranging a game for two days and then play for only 10 minutes. We are already accepting a short format on SL just to do what youre saying, to give smaller teams a chance to compete with bigger teams. But you cant do that with every league or it wont be fun at all playing in a league then. And u always talking about smaller clans here and how everything should work in their favour, should we drop the "bigger" teams then?
I guess that no one is stopping smaller clans signing big players. Look at the teams FPD and The Revs have made this season and you will see that there are no more easy teams to beat as easy as u say Keith.
With what ive read here almost everyone seems in favour of 8 frames or more, provide us with a list of players who dont like this and And if it is a majority then u can go with any format u want. But please lets not make the leagues only with what u decide. Of course u can do it, but that wouldnt be fair IMO.

And top clans have competition, u can see at how the fbl was dedided this season.
But in any other sport not any team competes with the best for the title. I cant see Leicester City challenge with Chelsea for the title.

I feel it would be good if 8ball arcade and 9ball arcade could be added onto FBL. Just an idea. We should use every type of pool in our leagues . This idea would make it more fun and add more excitement .

Not 9 ball Arc, Runout City, 8 Arc is fine

For me its not about titles but in FCL you have a while playing and i like that, at the moment i play for friends or league games, if i need to practice i get bored after 30 minutes.
I do like the aspect of smaller frames to give all teams a chance but i think only FPD has sticken with the same core as last season minus a few players, i believe everyone else could possibly challenge the top two teams.
I like longer frames too as its more frames in a competitive format and its less boring on a whole but i do like the Super League and the nature it brings.
Mixed reaction for me regarding longer frames, If you can't raise without guys moaning about Straight then leave format at 6 frames and increase Straight to 6, as i don't think Straight should be removed unless the Straight players disappeared or it is in decline like on Snooker. If it does then i believe while the league may feel balanced on frames count, i will always feel that somethings missing and balance may not be there

Its a great idea i feel including both 9 ball arcade and 8ball arcade. As i feel it allows all teams on an even level and will make the league much more inviting . James try and be positive as being negative wont improve clans , you need to bring something new into leagues so it will attract more players , i feel this idea will bring players wanting to play in clans and it allows more players to play.
