If 2-2 is a good result, then 3-2 over QPR is fantastic. RVP has been missing since Fergie bar a couple of runs of games.

Completely agree with Ash, why have a talent like Falcao on the bench and start with one striker. If you were to use one up top then Falcao is the best man for the job from the United strikers IMO. 3 months are up, and there's no difference from the start of season tbh. I don't see any progress, LVG still hasn't settled on a formation. And still resorting to putting Fellaini up top, which had an immediate impact but it never works against the top teams. With the easy run of games now over and a hard one to come, it doesn't seem difficult to expect United to not do so well now.

Though why are United afford the opportunity of transition, while Liverpool aren't. Meanwhile Southampton don't need one? Think the Chelsea game could be a repeat of Everton and Chelsea. High scoring but Chelsea to win through.

Liverpool fans have been crowing since the start that the players they'd signed were all top notch and CL were gonna be awesome. United fans have never said theyd be brilliant this term, I were the one who were very over optimistic with saying could win the title. That were based upon LVGs history and nothing more.

Liverpool seem to have not gelled as well as fans had hoped and also as well as Brendan had hoped too. Not saying their acquisitions aren't good enough but atm no they ain't. There appears to be no team spirit instead playing like a bunch of individuals. Gerrard doesn't seem up to the pace anymore, Henderson has been their revelation but Defence hasn't been resolute enough and the gap left by Suarez is clear to see even to a blind person.

Hopefully we can both bounce back next campaign and finish this one with a little bit more form.

Love it when zantetsukenz throws his opinions in the mixer, sounds like Alan Hansen talking about a great defensive display!

As I say every week, until I see Balotelli and Sturridge playing up top together again (the week they did we spanked spurs for 4).

It has never been a secret that Balo does not run, even for Aguero's title winning goal, the ball only got through to Aguero because Balo was falling over lol.

Back to Liverpool, Sturridge will do the running, kind of a bit like the runs that Suarez made last year (not saying that they are anything alike before the haters start hating) which will give Balo a bit more freedom to take the touch and get a couple of goals he desperately requires.

I think this will also help our defense out also, if we are spending most of the time attacking again, get a couple of clean sheets, then Lovren and Skrtel might start to get more confidence.

Anyways, after the game last night, Carra and Nev turned to the question 'Can Liverpool get anything from the game against RM'

If you saw it, please tell me what you thought, because the ideas he had were amazing, and it is such a shame he says he wont go into management!

Liverpool fans only defended the signings we made, our target this season has and will be to qualify for the champions league again. Nothing more or less.

United's was the win the league, until they realised that pre-season form means little and it changed. I don't think United fan's would be able to agree what they want/will get. I've heard some still fancy a title run when everything comes together, while others are settling for Europe.

Sturridge is our most important player, it was obvious that him being out again was going to be hugely negative so to see us floundering without him doesn't surprise me. Balotelli and Lambert are not replacements for Suarez or Sturridge and not adjusted to our system enough to cover him. You can't compare any of our strikers to Suarez because he was a unique player. The best comparison is Coutinho, but he is obviously more suited to midfield with his differences.

For United, they still need at least one top quality centre back for me to consider them ready for the top 4. Up top they have plenty, so they shouldn't be too concerned there. Midfield, they can afford to bring one or two in but they are another team that need to build their team from the back. With the quality in attack goals should come, so work on the clean sheet.

I do have a feeling that the game will be ironic, like we actually play well beyond what everyone thinks but we'll end up losing big like everyone thinks.

Though tbh, having a problem like how to get something from a match versus Real Madrid is a problem we've wanted to have for a few years. No matter the result, I'm still happy to be in the Champions League and we're not out with a loss.

As Jamie said its far to early.. Balotelli getting slandered for not scoring goals by Liverpool fans... But most will stick by Luis Suarez when he racially abused Evra and bit Ivanovic.

Both on the field problems.. Balotelli just needs more time

I don't think he's finished he's never started has he? Think they need some vibrancy and if possible Origi could just be that person. He and Sturridge upfront, Lallana played well when he came on last night. Coutinho did too, don't understand why he's forever subbed for Markovic. He is not good enough for Liverpool IMO, Coutinho needs more matches and Gerrard I hate to repeat myself really looks washed up, you would be better with the likes of W.Carvalho, M.Veloso (bit old now) even Lucas Silva someone young but massive potential.

This years CL for the first time is allowing the Bigger teams to show their true class and the gaps in class are evident to see. RM took foot off the gas in 2nd half, Lallana coming on helped Liverpool but if they wanted too score more goals they could/would have been scored. Bayern Munchen showed Roma how to play, usual class teams winning. Arsenal were soo lucky once again, against a top side though wouldn't happen. Shakhtar look very impressive too, good to see.

Think Liverpools team requires a massive shake up and starting with Mignolet, not the player he once were.

Mignolet is coming in for a lot of stick just like de gea did when he first got to united .. when uniteds defence was a bit shaky as ferdinand and vidic were injured a lot. The defence in front of Mignolet is that bad he can't do it all on his own ... if he could have confidence in his defence he is a fantastic goalkeeper.

Agreed Matty, remember in his first 3 games last season, when we won 3 times, 1-0. Not saying our defence was great, but they kept clean sheets at the start.

Mignolet made a couple of worldie saves and also saved a penalty, saving us potentially 4-6 points.

The criticism is unfair on him, as Matty said, if he had more faith in his defence, he might end up keeping in the more danger areas for second balls etc, but he feels like he has to deal with balls into the box, as no one else will..

I'm not saying he's not class, he were brillaint at Sunderland and fully deserves to be at Liverpool. Agree the defence is shocking at the moment but the constant goals being scored against him will be to the detriment of his confidence.

I think he needs a few games off and then that hopefully will galvanize and rekindle some confidence. Yes some will think how is him not playing going to help his confidence but a break is always good.

Top keeper, the defence in front needs serious work and maybe a new voice to get them up to a suitable standard might just be the remedy required.

Balotelli lol what a tool he is, can't see him been at Liverpool for long this is probs where the problems start, shame remy for some reason failed the medical, he would of been a much better signing imo for half the price as well
