The loss vs United was the 7th game in the capital on cup where Suarez came back.

I've said this before

Suarez had 2 players on him in nearly every game last season and his class showed because they couldn't handle him at all
scored goals for fun and many assists'

his presence allowed Sturidge and Sterling the freedom to do what they wanted

now he has gone and the heat is on them
sorry there not good enough

you sold Andy Carroll 24yr old
and sign Ricky Lambert 34 I think real sensible business

so tell me please, who is Suarez replacement
Ballotelli or Lambert

neither could clean Suarez boots let alone fill them

Gerrard said last night they weren't good enough, they were out thought and outplayed by Basle who simply wanted it more

Is your record broken? Give it a rest fgs, Liverpool fans know their team need to do better, but at least we only NET spent approx £20m, unlike some other teams.

spent £20 million
compared to other teams

hang on a minute, Liverpool are battling on 4 fronts this season, I stated in the beginning the squad wasn't good enough, I also said there was no strength in depth
if the club spent £20 million then that in itself is a massive blunder, as I've said the quality upfront just isn't there

and now excuses, its not just Liverpool fans who can see this
I will also say one total class player has left, I know a couple of miner players have left too
but he has signed no real proven quality

the team shows no cohesion, Basle to be fair embarrassed them. but it isn't just in Europe they have problems, domestically they have the same problems

lets see how the next 2 to 3 weeks play out

also will Liverpool qualify for Champions league next season ?

Sunderland v Stoke

oooch Stoke are no push overs, but we have to win this weekend, its a must
a lot of hard work has gone into this seasons signings

we have picked up 5 points in 6 games, not good enough
however this time last season our return was 1 point in 8 games

I guess the positive is we've only lost 1 in 6
hmmmmm sounds a lot better

Sat 4 Oct 2014
Hull v Crystal Palace (3-0) A.Hernandez quality

Leicester v Burnley (4-0) City confidence high

Liverpool v West Brom (0-1) Berahino score only goal

Sunderland v Stoke (1-0) Early goal then defend

Swansea v Newcastle (0-2) Think NUFC due a win

Aston Villa v Man City (2-1) Benteke rumoured be back more belief from team to cause this shock result.

Sun 5 Oct 2014
Man Utd v Everton (2-0) Falcao and Di Maria to score

Chelsea v Arsenal (3-3) Chelsea never fail to score, Arsenal and Welbecks confidence very high. Could be match of the season.

Tottenham v Southampton (2-0) They rested many players in Europa Cup, fancy TH to win this comfortably

West Ham v QPR (1-2) Redknapp return to Upton Park with a win probably late winner too.

Watch them all be wrong now lol

Balotelli and Sturridge have only played 60 minutes of football together, so I don't think we can write them off as a partnership, I personally think Balotelli will benefit from having Sturridge with him, which would also mean we will play Sterling at the tip of the diamond, which is his favoured role too.

Basel are a great team, who in the past 5 years have drew vs United and beat United. Beat Chelsea twice. Drew with Spurs twice. Beat Roma, Bayern Munich amongst a host of other teams.

They are no pushovers and no one should go there expecting to win. Yes we were poor, yes we conceded from yet another set piece, yes we lacked the "bite" for want of a better word.

But I wouldn't say the embarrassed us as someone up there ^^^ mentioned. If there was any embarrassment it was brought on by ourselves, and our inability to defend set pieces. Basel weren't great we were just worse than them.

Will we qualify for Champions League this season? I really think at the minute we would be lucky to finish Europa league.

Having said that we have got a few of our "bogey games" out of the way.

City away
Villa home

City away in last 3 years we have only got 1 point
Villa at home last 3 years we have only got 1 point

Having also got rid of Spurs away when before last season we hadn't won there in a while, Everton at home which is always a big game.Southampton at home which is usually close, 1 goal swing either way.

With West Brom, QPR, Hull, Newcastle all coming up as our next 4 in the prem before Chelsea then Palace Stoke Leicester and Sunderland... it is a perfect chance for us to get some points on the board, and get some momentum hopefully to go into the Chelsea game and the 2 games vs Madrid.

If we don't kick start now it could be an absolutely dreadful season.

Left Stoke half hour ago on way down, were coming for all 3 points today you guys gotta watch Moses he's bang in form hope you attack us as we can't break teams down but can counter teams for fun with plenty of pace :)

I'll go for 2-0 stoke, crouch and Bardsley with the goals :)

coach stopping there would be the best thing

normally fans get to the ground around 2-30 Liam under Police escort

the nearest pub is hardcore Sunderland you will see it as the coach passes

when you get off the coach and the ground is on your right follow the ground all the way round and you will see a car dealership and a bridge over the metro line

there are about 12 pubs there

about 5 mins tops from the ground

I will be in the Wheatsheaf
