i get called biased all the time ,, which i find unfair, lee and myself are not the closest of friends but if you ask him im certainly not biased in defaults as he isnt, it comes down to the facts

we dont get much wrong , thts within the FBL of course

I don't like the use of the mode score either in defaults. That can easily be swayed:

14-1, 14-1, 1-14, 2-13, 0-15

Average is 6-9 when rounded
Mode is 14-1.

When there is variance in a default scoring i'd prefer Interquartile range to remove the differing scores. So for my example it would be 6-9 after rounding and in sebs it would still be 8-7

But you are acknowledging that some of the panelists were so poor that they needed to be advised lol.
That's what I'm saying, it doesn't really matter how it's composed. To get the scores right, you need people who know what they're doing, no matter what division they come from.

Exactly, you should have variation in people's scores because everyone is harsher on different aspects and will interpret things slightly differently but getting people who can read the information, get a good idea of activity and aren't afraid to make a call people wont be happy with is more important than seperating divisions.
League runners should only be getting involved in defaults if a panel member is voting with biase.

seb i see where your comming from, on a select group of panelists, but lets be right under dgens tenure,, you had to be a trusted m8 lmao to get on them thats a documented fact

thats why this system was brought in, it might not be perfect but its better than it was,, id say by getting panelists to get explain their default, would help improve it dramatically

Yes, there can be some variance with the defaults. But nothing should ever be so radical that you can't see the outcome without using a calculator lol.
In zante's example- something is clearly wrong with several of the panelists. They would need to continue talking about it and reach a conclusion they can live with. Can't make a score from those predictions.

Bit of common sense from the league runner in FBL works pretty well...wipe a score that is totally inconsistent from the rest if necessary.
We had 1 person voting 0-0 for everything, that wasn't taken as part of the scores.

Disagree. The default panel back then got most of the scores right. More importantly, people were explaining their decisions and there was a dialogue going on- the defaults were being talked about with reasons etc.

zante in my oppinion your totally wrong, again im sorry to be harping on here

but in defaults if it were myself and lee 15 points would very rarely be awarded we would be closer to 5-3 etc

because we look at everything including sebs 10 day offline and penalise teams accordingly

these are facts

ppl seem obsessed with allocating all the points be it 15 in fcl or 6 iin fbl hit them hard

Nobody discusses defaults though, most just post their scores and that is it, only some would change a prediction based on another panelist pointing something out.

^That's exactly the problem I think.
That's why an average is currently having to be calculated.

but seb go with me on this,,

an average is the best way, you cant tell a default panelist exactly what to do , why have them, they need to bring somthing to the table, as lee has said some look at differant things, interprate things differantly, the average is normally ok

im not setting fcl up against fbl, but i havent seen to many disagreements with default predictions in fbl

and only one really big one on fcl

Should people be able to write an explanation of events?
A lot of the time that is all we get but I don't think anyone should, the evidence should be messages and forum posts...lot of misleading 'evidence' is given and some people take it as gospel.

Idea for you to help decisions...
Offline thread
You have someone in your opponents team offline for 4 days in a fixture you post on the offline thread...
ipotalot offline 4 days (never happen )
league runner clicks on their tag and puts 'confirmed'

May pressurise eariler subs for inactive players too

agree with everything except what craig said about me when i was runner, yes i picked people who i could trust do the job correctly and usually it worked to perfection (only thing was the completion bonus messed it up sometimes) but not all defaults will be accurate, if we had someone who could leave their computer on constantly (24/7) then we could have the activity tracker which makes defaults easier.

i agree that people should explain why they predicted that score if not then it shouldn't count really.

agree with Seb about people making all the effort then being tried to force sub or it goes against you.

yes lee i was lazy for 1 default as i didn't read all the info then when i did and tried to change the score it was locked so i couldn't do much, if you see me on snooker and seb will back me up that i predict well and i am unbiased.

if your a new panelist i think runners should put up some dummy defaults, get the real defaults team to predict to league runners first for a rough score then if the new panel is right or about right on say 9 out of 10 then they get the job. this distinguish those who read properly and those who don't.

Wasn't on about any specifics James just generally people add their predictions then dont go back to look at the site again till next set, a lot to do with the way the info is or isn't posted cos we normally have to waste hours trawling through threads.

If thats case i would kick them for not doing their job properly

FBL only uses 6 points so in FBL its easier to predict than FCL which uses 15 points. the more points a league default has to work with the harder and less accurate the prediction is

i think it should work how many messages people send to each other
you all have 14 days to arrange the games
so if both players messages 2 times each or so on you should work a point system or something in that fashion
if a player is not active in 7days with in the fixture the captain as to make a sub
weather that player away or ill
some captains leave it miles to late to make subs for their players

are you for real somtimes i worry about you

a clan game: the same
2 players: the same
they play a game: the same
it goes to fault for what ever reason: the same
2 weeks to play: the same
8 matches: the same
2 fixtures per fortnight: the same
you play in a league: the same
default staff: the same
the way to predict: the same
playing for 6 or 15 points: the same
a target to reach: the same

its easier when there are more games because you can deduct more or less points you can deduct for more breaches, its like 2 1/2 x more points
its all about the impact it has on teams with only 6 points to play for loosing 3 points is a bigger loss than 7.5 the impact is the same, but you need to think harder on deductating points and for what reasons

dgen do you ever stop and think what you post, i mean do you really
