00:54 Mon 12 Mar 12 (GMT) [Link] in connection to potlimit's idea
How is this in connection with my idea? Are you talking about me when you say "shut up moaning about and deal with"?
I tried to arrange 4 times each time before I could play any game a diff player was subbed in. Unfortunately I just had to grin and bare it!
You're out of your element angel, i never moaned, never posted "I have arranged this". I was only trying to open reasonable and constructive conversation about an issue.
I made no offensive reference to other people and posted a reasonable suggestion for improving the rules. Both chris and Seb (whocares8x8) are replying with their own reasonalbly constructed disagreements to my suggestion. I am reading those comments and am very open to the idea that my original suggestion was wrong.
Sorry I have enough on my plate without worthless posts sayin 'I have arranged this', having just put up with playing a fixture in which I had 5 diff opponents, it unfortunately something at times you have to put up with, shut up moaning about and deal with :/

You shouldn't bring in any rule that has the potential to restrict opportunities of getting games played.
For example if a player has been offline a number of days at the time the fixtures are released, why wait a further seven before you can sub? Your window of opportunity to get the game played has reduced needlessly.
More enforceable would be what james said about limiting subs and swaps in the first week

Okay chris, i don't understand why it's not enforceable but that's not important. I'm newbie when it comes to understanding the rules of fcl, so i'll take your more experienced opinion on it. Thanks for considering my suggestion at the same.
Trouble is pot your rule is unenforcable I'm afraid.

We never sub in the first week and have had no defaults in 3 seasons

I see the principle but just think less people would actually arrange their games and it's bad enough getting some to post scores lol

Indeed and within the current rules. So why bring in anything that might restrict getting games played?

01:12 Mon 12 Mar 12 (GMT) [Link] Just to avoid confusion, I haven't disagreed with anyone. That post was just clarifying what chris was saying.
I don't even know what you guys are talking about lol

Cos people could pick and choose games with the current rules when the idea is random matches.

I'm afraid that idea went when the desire to eliminate defaults came about!!

Unlimited subs and swaps helps towards the end of matches but it isn't necessary early on.

So black isn't really black it is white?
You make the most ridiculous statements. It is ok to use them when it suits you but not when you think it doesn't and better later on in the fixture as doing it early to get games played serves no purpose, yet all fixtures are 14 days long and every day should be used to get them completed.
Anyone who can work this out, answers on the back of a postcard to ....................

If you accept subs/swaps later then you accept them at anytime. And the earlier the better in the example I quoted somewhere above.
There is no logic not to. If I particularly wanted to create a match-up by using a sub then I would just simply wait for seven days instead of doing it at anytime.

Again I have had posts edited and warnings for saying the exact same thing as a moderator says...
If i'm not allowed to say these things why should you be allowed?

I have made a thread that i think every clan will accept
http://www.funkypool.com/thread/18521/transfer-list-1per-season-as-per-fcl-rules
My topic is on a player that leaves mid fixture to join another clan.
He/she is still eligible to play for the clan they left so the team changes should only come into effect after that set of fixtures.
Nobody likes to loose and i doubt if they were used in a game would refuse to play unless they had a major problem with the people in the clan.
So this should be pushed forward asap as i see it to make things easier for some.

another topic:
how about the ability (if both captains agree) in clan games to replay the match from 0-0 with a sub? the ipotalot vs rapid_pot is a prime example of what im talking about as none of them have been able to sub because the game started but if this was in place if horse and ang agreed then they could restart using subs to have 1 less game going to default (used that game as an example nothing more).
we have this rule on snooker and worked well during the pre season friendlies:
6.5 Substitutions in Partially Played Games
Once a game is started between two players, no substitution may be made. An exception is allowed when a player is banned, removed from a clan, or leaves a clan. In this case, the game may be abandoned and restarted at 0-0 with a sub for the player in question. Both captains must agree to this.
i know what you will say, were not implementing this because its snooker but i want constructive feedback only

Come on Jay and Jem can't wait to hear the explanation for this!
ipotalot said:
Come on Jay and Jem now that I have seen your photobucket album and seen the info posted where is my say on things to go with the messages?
Seems rapid_pot was allowed to post his lies but my truth got mislayed somehow...
MISSING SECTIONS
Despite him saying he would be available any evening this was the only evening throughout the fixture he had been. We started the match then at the end of the 3rd frame he said 'got to go foods arrived, i'll be back in a bit'
I waited on for him all evening (evidence on both teams threads) was 2 days before he logged back in and when he did was at 1.00am and he had made no attempt to contact me explaining why he hadn't come back or trying to rearrange so I messaged him again...
clearly said the game had to be played before the weekend because I knew that I was busy all weekend, he arranged to play thursday evening and I again sat online all evening waiting for him and he didn't show and again on friday evening I was checking routinely and he hadn't come online.
By starting and leaving the game he left me unable to ask for a sub and there really was nothing else I could do other than keep being online day after day.
The only time he became available to finish in the whole fortnight was on deadline day when he knew I was unavailable so he bombarded our thread with pitiful rubbish to try and get some default points.

You posted his explanations to the default team and edited out all of mine Jay...fact!
We send the information to Jem to try and make out that things are done fairly but you are the one sorting them and posting them for your teams games lol...makes no odds really either way, all the same entity.
Seems I did use the right word 'cheated' earlier after all eh?
