oh lol you have no idea ! i am a captain and a league runner, i get it twice as much as anyone else
i would like to reiterate again that league runners did not overturn a decision made by a captain a simple "no i do not grant permission" would have been accepted without question

Because the league has decided that people can move once for whatever reason, they have already over-ruled a captain who has refused a move so the 'captain's permission' doesn't exist in reality anyway.

That's a decision over-ruled surely? Getting confused by the whole thing now you and Jay seem to be singing from different song sheets and nothing is clear.

It does not say anywhere that they need a reason why.
Players can switch to another clan once during the season with captains permission. We encourage a captain to do what the player has asked. If the captain refuses to release the player even when the player does not want to play for the clan then they may approach a league runner about the situation.
i_am_classic did this sometime last week under the same circumstances but he also refused to play any games as he was not being released when he wanted to. I gave permission for the move because of that fact alone.
It is urged that a player does think about what he/she wants to do though as once you move clans you can not move again and if you leave the clan then you are there for not allowed to compete in the league for the remainder of the season.

Ah yes I see how there was confusion.
I am not referring to the i_am_classic case, I am referring to yesterdays incident which involved a different player who wanted to join my clan, which Rick was posting about. There was no overruling for the player from yesterday.
For the case of i_am_classic, I played no part in that as I believe he went directly to Jay and I do not know what was discussed.

both players said to me because my clan is not active that is not a reason to leave a clan team
when this rule come in i though you had to have solid reason to leave the clan
if the player was not getting played or not getting enough games from there captain
or the player does not get on with players or captain
i can fully understand that if the player wanted to leave them for them reason but not cause the team is not active
and for the league runner to over turn them for some thing as silly as that is wrong
and that not abusing your captain position like some people think so

From what Jay has said there and on other occasions if a player wants to move once in a season they can whatever the reason, that's why we were all saying you would be better off getting rid of the captain's permission part of the rule as it's obsolete now.

i agree that we should do away with captains permission wholeheartedly - it is pointless if the player can then just complain to league runners and get it overturned in theory.
but as the captains permission rule was in force, this is the guidelines i attempted to stick to.
i guess i just want to make it clear that didnt abuse my league runner status nor did i attempt to get jay involved to overrule Rick.

fair play to u for stickin to the rules jem an i dont know jays reasonin for overturnin it, but in fairness, its a game, why should users on here need permission to play for a different clan?
Im all for a set amount of times someone can change clans because certain players may find themselves swappin clans quite regular, but users shouldnt be told by a previous captain who they can or cant play for.
But if the whole "captains need to give permission rule" goes out the window, then a rule should be brought in (if its not already). e.g a player can only play for a maximum of 2 clans in a season.
so that player would seriously have to consider the best move for him/herself if they decided to move clans

if the clan is having a bad season what your saying the whole team can walk away how silly is that
then the team will fold and the league runners also pointed out they did not what teams to fold
this way a team can fold in a matter of days with this ruling

Well you didn't sign i_am_classic and the decisions for the 2 were the same jem so I don't see how you can be accused of that, the league has been consistent and that's what we want.
I think the captain's permission should be done away with, people allowed to move once as long as the captain's are informed by offline messages not on the forums.
Can't see the point in keeping unhappy players their hearts not going to be in it and it's not fair on them.

reading again what ipotalot quoted, i looks like the player, i_am_classic, was refusing to play anyway so there would have been no point keeping him on the teamsheet because he would have refused to play.
with hughsy89 - the player i wanted - if there was a straightforward no, rules state i couldnt do anything about it, but it wasnt.
i do think that keeping players against their will is a little hitler-esque and that part of the rule should be scrapped.
1 move per season is sufficient, lee's post with the steps to transfering players should be considered as basic etiquette guidelines and should somehow be enforced - or a better word for it might be encouraged.

if a team wants to walk away surely they aint loyal, why would u want unloyalty, and u cant force players to play, so if players wanted to leave, u say no, u put them in a fixture, or even need them to sub in, they say no, ur stuck, im sure ud rather get rid of unloyal players and invite loyalty to the team?
btw the "u" isnt necessarily aimed at u, was just a figure of speech

agree with alot of what u say bud, but i dont agree with previous captains needin to be informed, they are previous captains, they dont need to know, they would find out on team sheets, and if even they are informed, whats the purpose?

i for one agree wit lee the permission needs to go and the 2 clan rule come in it should eliminate rows to an extent and save the stress of seeking permission, we all know how petty some people could be on ere and if a captain not like another could say no for that reason not fair on player,
so permission out
max 2 clans a season.
sounds good to me

The captain's need to be informed they are losing a player somehow antione and it's only decent when you're signing a player that you or the player message the captain offline to tell them.

just basic manners i guess Ant, would be a simple exchange in message like the below...
New Captain: Hi mate, just letting you know that Player X will be joining my clan with immediate effect / from next fixture / whatever
or Player: Hi, just letting you know I will be joining Clan X so please remove me from teamsheet
--------------------------------------------------------
Old Captain: Thanks for letting me know
--------------------------------------------------------
Transfer complete - update transfer on team changes thread
Should be done through private message and not on forums

He should just say he would rather join crazy 8's lol as it's the truth, i think he rushed into joining TPA after crazy 8's rejected him initially and know they want him.
cause you rejected him in the first place we would not be here talking about this
if he your pal lol so you called him gets rejected

Two clans, no permission for me and it should only be a courtesy that the player inform the captain.
I'd like to spin the conversation round, should captains be able just to release players willy nilly? If they are not playing their games, fair enough but for silly reasons like not posting?
If you sign a player then there should be a commitment from the clan. It's unfair permission is needed to release a player as it stands but a player can get booted for nothing.

rick, do we have to keep going over this, especially as jay asked it to be kept off the thread?
last time for all to see, then enough please!
- crazy eights was full when i was initially approached
- said i would keep him informed of a space
- space opened - i told him
- he wanted in
- i requested permission from you
thats the end of it now
