Please do not call me an idiot
Jay is the new Head League Runner and has every right to shake up a couple of the rules if he wants to, you get no say in what he decides. If you do not like it you know where the door is. We, including myself, need to respect decisions coming down from Jay and if we do not like it then tough! He has already overturned some ideas I have come up with, do I like it? No! Will I get over it? Yes!

You changed the transfer rule last season so that was for the better, now you're changing it back for the better eh?
There are so many situations where the clubs will be better off letting their last fixture go to default if you scrap the bonus for no defaults so obviously there will be more defaults caused...probably going to raise the win bonus back to 20 points too?...just genius.
'We'll get a decent default out of that game, they've got a top player left to play, we'll dodge that one for a few days get 20 bonus points job done'
All because the self appointed geniuses couldn't agree on how to impliment the simplest little tweak to still give people bonuses when someone starts a game and doesn't finish it.

Nothing wrong with it in an ideal world, but on pool we don't have one.
Example Seb (MVPS no1 fan!!) tells snooker squad he is finished with clans and not playing clan games anymore. Snooker Squad release him and replace him.
He then joins MVP a week later and then plays against snooker squad and beats one of their players 13-2, is snooker squad going to be happy?, i doubt it but going back to rules with captains releasing it could happen and would no doubt cause an uproar but is within rules so snooker squad can't complain.
You can have a transfer window mid season where you could lose half your team during that window and fold clans. (Don't think this helps anyone but at least it gives players freedom to move)
Or you can have 1 transfer per season with no captains input. Seb would therefore announce he was leaving after current fixture set. He then is in quarentine for the complete next fixture set (Could even make this 2 fixtures so it is a month before joining his next clan)
He can then join MVP as he always was anyway but i agree with others previously he can play for MVP but not against snooker squad going forward. If he has played for snooker squad in the cup i would also say he should be cup tied from that event.
I would prefer as a captain of a clan to know upfront what he is doing and then i know he is leaving and why he is leaving. Going back to the old rules means we are going to have occasions where players will no doubt bend the rules and get what they want, why not create a system where everyone knows that any player can leave and go to your opposition but at least you all know it can happen but they couldn't then play against you that season.
I voted for the one transfer rule but i was under the impression it was going to be a free move with no captain input, i wonder how much more have voted like me and have now got a different rule to what they voted for. It appears rick and ab are also in the same boat, it means the whole poll thing is flawed.

Well you do away with the difference between release and transfer. Someone released by definition does not want to participate anymore, otherwise they would want a transfer.
I think in reality all captains just need to be encouraged to transfer players when they dont want to stay. But likewise players need to accept that in return they might not be able to transfer to their first choice that season. Nothing wrong with that.

i didnt change it actually, it was on DAVES old site and i forgot to edit it as it was 75% through season when i found out i felt it was unfair to edit it again.
so take that genius
also the other points are up for discussion, REMEMBER i have NO SAY what happens next season except the Individual league so once again.

Jem I like the league you are setting about ruining it by changing fundamental rules.
Think you need to seriously look at your ability to be a 'league runner' if you want to get rid of someone who actually cares about the league and works hard to get new members in because they don't agree with you.
Also if you take a response to alan as personal towards you then you have other issues.
Either way I won't be leaving the league and will be still giving opinions until you outlaw that.
If you don't like it then why don't you quit the league eh

I agree this is why completion bonus was put in and overall win amount was reduced to 10 to accomodate. It was also meant to get rid of defaults but we are still getting similar numbers of defaults so it is not achieving what it was set out to do.
If anyone can come up with a better solution, i would love to hear that input.
I liked the tweak this season where it was obvious one team was at fault the other team got it as they didn't deserve to miss out due to the other teams inability to get games completed. This has just caused more arguments where if you look at it from the outside as a neutral observer it really should have been easy to implement fairly, but the current league runners couldn't even agree how to apply common sense and fairness on it so that is why the completion bonuses have been removed and i can understand why as rules that league runners interpret differently are always going to cause arguments among the members if they can't agree on it.

Because I am not selfish and do not expect the league to accommodate everything I want... there needs to be a happy medium and unfortunately that means I do not get everything I want - I am mainly in this to help out Jay so I respect everything he decides

I for on think you have done a great job mate
You have tried to be fair and put things out to open discussion which is how i think league should be run. Half the time it has came back to bite you as this thread goes mad and you have to try and justify your decision rather than just making them. You will never get a happy medium but i do think the more input you get from those who play in league the better it is for all. You are always going to get one or two who question your reasons or that you are biased. Ignore them mate and just get on with what you are doing as you are doing well in my opinion, not that my opinion means much

Possible solution - Release means frees up a spot in your team but player remains 'contracted' for lack of a better term. If he changes his mind and wants to play again he either is given a spot back in the team, if one is free, or gets transferred to a clan he and the Captain agree to.
He then joins MVP a week later and then plays against snooker squad and beats one of their players 13-2, is snooker squad going to be happy?,
Cant happen as per above - though of course Snooker Squad might allow him to be transferred to MVP!!
You can have a transfer window mid season where you could lose half your team during that window and fold clans. (Don't think this helps anyone but at least it gives players freedom to move)
You can have a transfer window (transfer only during this period) but still subject to Captains permission. Without it, in your scenario, MVP choose to take x number of Snooker Squad players without that clan's agreement. In effect your second half of the season is separate to your first half (two different team line ups in each half). Arguably you have also rendered a whole load of scores meaningless in terms of achieving a genuine league table for the season (my opinion only lol)
He then is in quarentine for the complete next fixture set (Could even make this 2 fixtures so it is a month before joining his next clan)
Either is fine.

Cup tied in cup yes but not in a league. I have explained why earlier - but that is not fair for all teams.

I said it was stupid scrapping the no defaults rule which it is, i said it will lead to more defaults which it will.
You got personal saying i'm just disagreeing for the sake of it...total rubbish so listen to your own advice and allow people to give opinions on subjects that differ from yours.

Agree with your replies Chris but the whole point is we want to get away from contracts and just allow people to play and if that means any player can move once it is the same for all
