Its ok if you join another tourny in a final if you genuinly expect to be finished by then, other than that i agree with ipotalot on this one.

Yeah when you finish a final you only have to scroll up and enter, reckon with the more regular tournaments and micros at quarter past will get a lot worse too.

If you miss tournament games you forfeit the match - meaning you will lose ranking points and get a defeat on your profile, with your opponent getting the victory and the win. Therefore your opponent will still get rewarded (as well as a bye) so will probably not be too concerned.

You only lose minimal points normally about 2.5 nobodies bothered about that though and it's the people that miss out entering a micro because of people doing this that I don't think it's fair on.
You're trying to make the site better for new players and a lot of them get frustrated with the difficulty of the players in the main tournaments the micros are the bridge I think and with loads of tournaments to keep the regulars happy you don't want the micros ruined. Tournaments will start at 10 past and everyone who gets a bye will be straight in the micros and they will be full of DQ DQ DQ

I can see merit in limiting entry, for Micro tournaments only, to players not currently entered in any other tournament. Also in making them available to all players, including 'newbies' (if they aren't already).

Losing 9 points because of a fluke is kind of ridiculous. I like that tourney's are ranked, but not sure if they should weigh so much. And when playing regular games a win from someone close to my level only gives me a point



Anyone else agree or am I just being stubborn?

Is frustrating i lost 15 points in a marathon to a hit and hope flukemeister but I like it because 1 good tournament and you get them straight back and then some.
I've just been playing tournaments for months now and all my rankings go up and down dramatically but they are still progressing upwards gradually as i'm improving so I find that the system works well.

What do you mean the old points system? The core of the points system hasn't really been changed, it's just weighted more.

Would you say a UK 8 Ball Tournament at 9pm, and then a UK 8 Ball Speed Tournament at 9.30pm is a flaw for this tournament structure?

The half past the hour ones are on a 25 hour schedule so rotate every day - ie tonight's 21:30 tournament is tomorrow's 22:30 etc.

There are way too many tournys now, when i first started playing tournys it was a real achievement winning one but now there is one every 15mins or whatever it is. It just feels like if you have a lucky run which you are bound to get in at least one of them then anyone can win a tourny. Old system was better with 1 tourny and hour

What we have now is better, there is every chance for anyone to win a tournament now. If you get knocked out in the first round, you only have a matter of minutes until the next one.

I used to hate getting knocked out early and wait 40 minutes for the next one.

It doesnt matter, there are way too many tournys now. It doesnt feel like a big achievement now seen as there is a tourny right around the corner which will more than likely have less people in it. Just defeats the object of the challenege really

There are 36 tournaments per 24 hours compared to 24 previously. The others (Friendlies and Micros) are not currently recorded anywhere.

Bearing in mind that there will shortly be six different game types, plus a seventh if you include Random (let alone the variants of Speed and Marathons for each) restricting them to hourly would probably alienate even more members whose chances to play their favourite tournament types were more restricted.

To bring in an element of achievement you could trial Major Open Tournaments as has been brought up many times before. Say on a rotating basis weekly through the game types, or simply on an extended Random basis, at 8pm (UK) on a Sunday night.

You would need to have some sort of reward for winning that's different to now (maybe the vouchers trialled on Killerpool.Com?), but it would be interesting to see if it would draw in a larger number of entries to form a real challenge.

yes nick put it back to a repeat schedual i liked it better knowing there was a straight torny at 2 am everynight

also i think you should let newbies back in tornys seeing as though theres a massive reduction in points that one can lose to a newbie and they dont affect tornapoints which is now the for front of the game so why exclude them no point really fake newbie or not
