RESULT: Micro 8 Ball UK Tournament - wildcard (0) loses to gamer (1) with 1 ball remaining
RANKINGS: gamer 844.4 (+1.5), wildcard 741.0 (-1.5)

how can it be slow punishment when i potted the black and won the game lol ???? i get the ranking points but not the torni points

at least its only micro and you don't win a lot of tournapoints for micro anyway

at first you made all of them ranked stating that tournys were the way foward, now you've seen sense and have made friendlies which were there in the first place.

What's the point of a friendly tourny if it only comes around on a very rare basis, why not chance it back to all unranked - Those that are currently friendlies you change to ranked so there are more friendly ones? I've noticed on a previous thread people wasn't that keen on this idea from the start.

The ranking system is screwed completly now i've seen people who are 830 who shouldn't even be above 800. Win 6 games in a tourny and earn yourself 18points lose 4points to someone way higher they make a huge some without losing too many games. Not a good idea.

I would personally like to congratulate nick and all the admin team because it's very hard to keep a game running so sufficiently to encourage new users and long time players alike! No matter what is done, there will always be some people that like change and some people that don't!
But i have been playing since the start on various accounts and on poolsharks too and you only have to look at the progression made over the years and the overall popularity of the website to give them the benefit of the doubt!

Well said, there will always be those who oppose change, yet Nick, and his team, risk the site's popularity with changes to make it better for us.

As for the rank situation, I think it's harder to get high rank now, as one slip in a tournament against someone low and you lose a good 6 games worth of rank.

I'm glad for the re-implementing of the Friendly tournaments, but is there any chance they could rotate? So one day the UK is at 8:30, the next it's at 9:30...Also, maybe adding another three in the early hours or the morning for our American/Australian (and all the rest) players? (Clearly only if they are wanted...)

micro tourny's are pointless unless there worth a tourny point.

Or maybe have 120 and 1/4 tournys wins. Each micro is a 1/4 of the tourny. works out then as 32 people per tourny win.

You seem to have missed one fundamental difference - friendly tournament winners do not count as a tournament win. Consider them exactly the same as playing a friendly game.



The ranking system has not been changed.



Let the entrants be the judge of that.

The friendly tourny takes place instead of a ranked tourny without any benifit to others other then a few friendly games.
The Ranking system has been changed what happened to the 2.3 win for an 800 vs 803 player? its not something usless at 1.7 points which isn't worth while.
As for the micro tourny i've won a few and had alot of semi's in them now as they're basic and easy personally a twist that either needs to be brought in making them worth something or changing to a chance where you can double your points.....
