As for the 1/4 tourny's its all well and good having tournapoints but people go by the tournys won, not the points won in tournys which can be implemented by how good the players are in the tourny, for example win 20 micro tourny's that works out as around 2k tournapoints, 2 tournys after that and you should pretty much see a day won without having to play anything tough.

The idea of making them actually meaningfull would become making them 1/4 tourn's that go on your profile or even not have then classed as tournys just change them to every half hour with the idea of "double or nothing" since there are only 8 people each person puts one point in, winner takes all 8, losers receiving nothing. This would also become a new feature and idea for pool instead of having constant every hour double points chances where most arn't even above 800 in them.


As to redherring your post wasn't even worth the typing i'd advise you to make them more meaningful in future if you want a reaction or even a comment back.

How would you suggest they would be meaningful then? If they go on your profile, or only the winner takes all the points, does not make them any more difficult to win...

The Friendly tournaments were something that a number of people wanted, as not everyone liked playing ranked all the time, but were happy just playing with mates, seeing how far they got. A friendly tournament means you get to play a lot of people you may not usually, while not having to worry about losing rank so you can take it more light-heartedly.

Micro tournaments, being quick, also suit those who don't spend hours on here and can only get on every now and then, it gives them something to try to win rather than entering a tournament and not being able to finish it.

The Micro tournaments also mean that if you are knocked out of let's say a speed tournament, you don't have to wait so long until another tournament.

You would have to take this game way too seriously to care that much about ranking points, at the end of the day it's a game and Nick is making changes to benefit everyone (Newbies, top rankers and people who just want to have a great time playing the game).

It's not all about playing tough opponents, and in any case that has nothing to do with it. Each tournament is difficult to win.

Never said this change would make them more difficult but would bring something better to the game rather then how it is at the moment. Anyone can win a tourny depending upon who's in it i know not exactly rocket science.

Just a thought , would it be possible to have a different sound alert for joining tourneys and invites ? I'm often doing other things while waiting for an invite and rely on the sound alert to know when my games ready , with 3 extra micro tourneys added it ' boings ' allot now , would be good to have separate sound alerts ?

tbh i love both ranked and friendly tournaments and especially micro for those who rarely do very well in tournaments or for people who only have about 20 minutes on.

i have been on this site for a ridiculous amount of years now since the site started, and i think that nearly everything nick and admin has done has improved this site greatly from how it first was. and not everybody is going to agree with nick.

anybody who has anything wrong with this site knows where the door is to leave as this site is one of the best on a computer and should be given respect not everybody arguing about everything and trying to start arguments.

There is benefit for newbies who want to join a tourny who can't, so they can get a feel for what it's like, and for others who want a tournament structure but without the rank, so there is benefits there.

Ranking scale has been changed, not the ranking system. Works in exactly the same way, and if you win that sort of game (your example) in a tournament you actually gain 20% more than you did before tournaments got re-designed basically (as when the change came in nick said that tournament ranked games were worth 1.2 times a game before the update and normal ranked games 0.6 times a ranked game before it all)

They are there just for a little bit of fun a couple of quick games to earn tournapoints. It's also massively advantageous to people who only pop on for half an hour and don't have time for a full length tourny.
They are meant to be basic and simple at the end of the day.

yah so how about including all micro tourny wins on all players profiles i have won 7 nine ball micro's n would like that to show.

I agree with 9ballsniper1 and stueyy from previous page.... ages ago 3/4/5 am tourneys sometimes had less that 8 in it but they still got classed as tournament wins. I fully agree with 9ballsniper1 and mewtwo think we should get tourny wins next to names if only in micro tournys or under stats

just a question, how can you have half a tournament win its like digging half a hole (wait you can't dig half a hole as once there is a hole then its hole), same with tournaments whether its 8 entries, 20, 50, 100 etc its still a whole tournament if its recorded or not.

and on the topic raised i disagree as micro only has 8 entries and not enough to warrant a recorded tournament win.

if you make micro recorded then friendlies should be as well which is why i disagree.
