I just wanna say that the way it is at the moment is not good for the eyes, I've never had a problem in the past with the way the balls roll but this is not good.

I have never suffered from lag so it must be your computers as the game runs perfectly for me:S.

The recent links you posted Nick, here are my opinions:

1) A bit slow but the most realistic out the three.

2) I broke off then closed as it was too fast!

3) Same as above.

I would definitely keep it how it was or use link one but move it up a touch in speed.

Nick, Iv just logged in as guest and the game is running as smooth as ever, what is the problem :S? Keep it as it is, cause the people who are suffering from lag its because of their computers and not this site! Really no need of a change.

I've had this computer for just over a year and never suffered from lag and everything was fine up until the last couple of days, it just seems like the balls are very jercky, not as smooth as it was.
surely if it was our computers we would get the lag with the demos too, the demos are fine.

It's not looking like it should be kept, no!

Ste, but something has gone on because from reading this thred and talking to people whilst plying yesterday its around 8 out of 10 people say its worse, and ay the old version number one of of the 4 demos. demos 1,2,3 and 5.

the only time i recived lag was when we had an o2 advert in the game window. since that went, ive not had lag since yesterday when the update featured.

So its got to be the change?

If a change introduces problems to a lot of people, yes there is a need of change.

Just because you don't have any problems don't mean there are none. I have no problems with these lag issues either, but that may very well be related to the web browser, operating system, java version, screen resolution etc that people are using. Just because we suffer no ill effects on one configuration doesn't mean it works satisfactory on all others.

Has my Java version got anything to do with it?

I have Java(Tm) 6 update 5 and Java(Tm) 6 update 7 at the same time.

I've got unplayable lag all the time, maybe a cause?

The balls seem to judder for me when they are slowing down.

I am in my 2nd game playing UK8, and had "lag" twice. And also had a case of hitting a ball really softley, only to have it increase majorly in speed after hitting a cushion.

I think the animation from a few days should be used.

I am planning on using the same power setting change as shown in number 5, so please give feedback if you have a problem. It is meant to be similar to before, but more consistent and hopefully prevent (or reduce) "lag" effects.

Out of 1,2 and 5... 1 seems to to run the best for me, but in all of them they are jerky and its making it hard for me to actually compaire them But 1 seems the most realistic,

This one runs the best for me, seems to be most like it used to be. Reverting to that Nick? 5 isn't bad, but it's just the jumpiness that does me like chip, it used to be real smooth but now it jumps and jerks all the time, but also now you have to put more power in to get the same desire effect which is really hard to get used to and very frustrating.

Tomorrow or Monday if I don't have time tomorrow.

How is the cue power in number 5 for you ste? It might be different from how you're used to, but so long as it's consistent...

The issue i have with the cue power in 5 is that i can't play a gentle shot. With the power meter just registering, the cue ball moves about a quarter of the table lenght.

Cue Power is a lot better in 5 than the current version we have, it would be more consistant for me personally to have that then the current version. It isn't perfectly ideal but I would feel I would get used to it pretty quickly. Looking forward to it.

spinner, what happens when you really really slowly push the cue forwards? eg a single pixel at a time?

ste, but it's consistent for you, eg shot power is proportional to your speed?

Humble apologies - got the demos mixed up!

Number 5 is fine, its number 1 that moving even one pixel at a time sends the white flying!

Yes that's exactly what demo 5 does for me.

This current version doesn't!

Great

Actually I can control the cue ball at low better with demo 5 than before, so I'm going to be snookering you tonight, erm I mean soon.

EDIT:
This demo is pretty similar, but with a change that if the system is busy and possibly lagging it just doesn't take the shot.
