It's Christmas time and the spirits are lifted
So much money spent and so many presents gifted
The kids can't rip off the paper any quicker
The lights on the trees they flash and flicker
Families gather for a massive feast together
Nothing stops them, they meet in any weather
Dad gets drunk, and snores after dinner
We take bets on how long, who's the winner?
Will you eat trifle or Christmas Pud?
Who cares I say, coz they're both very good
We always seem to eat way too much
So much for applying the sensible touch
I love to see the kids feeling so happy
Whether playing with the wii or FP on their lappy
I hope that you all have a wonderful day
And may your Christmases always be that way
My personal thoughts will be focussed on one
And now that I'm late I will have to run!

Christmas

This is a time, for laughing and joking
Not for arguing, and provoking
A time for receiving, and for giving
A time for friendship, and forgiving
A time for children, to play all the while
And to give their parents a beaming great smile
A time for the family to be all as one
A time to join in with the festive fun
A drink here and there, a slap up dinner
Turkey or Beef, there is only one winner
Presents galore, which are quickly unwrapped
Computer games to which you have to adapt
But spare a thought for that chap up above
Its because of him, that Christmas we love
But I have my own reasons, I'll end this with a toast
Its online with my Paula, that I love Christmas the most

Woke up New Years Day, to swallow the bitterest pill
A very good friend of mine, is terminally ill
As I type these words, that are taking a while
She keeps telling me, don't worry Stell, just smile
I don't know her personally, and that's more the pity
But she's a delightful young girl, from New York City
She's bright, bubbly, who has loads of friends here
Who will miss her lots, I for one, am shedding a tear
She still reads the forums, and I know she'll read this
She told me, not one poem, does she ever miss
So this is for you, my brave American friend
Our love for you here, seems to have no end
Keep plugging away, and I'll always be here
And your friendship with me, I will always hold dear

hiya, this was the first thread I came to when I got back here...stella what can I say, your poems have got amazing *rubs hands together* - right i'll see if i can still write.

A Strange Meeting

I cast my mind back, to many years ago,
When I was still in school, and barely a bloke.
A friend found this site, and we all played a game,
Logging in as guests, without a username.
But then something gripped me, I returned here,
And got to know people in less than a year.
It really took hold, I would stay up for hours,
The victories in games I just had to devour.
Later on,in time, more people I met,
I made friends here that I will never forget.
One day I found this thread, posted for the crack,
Little did I know that I would soon be back.
It kind of snow-balled, this site and I,
And after a couple of years, I said goodbye.
Still I kept in touch, from time to time,
Posting on the forums, and posting more rhymes.
I took after Swing, a great poet he was,
And when I left I passed the baton across:
To my friend Stell, how much he's progressed,
It's fair to say now mate, that your clearly the best.
