I was hoping we could jump in a Tardis, travel forth and then be able to post the results on here. Maybe I'm just too outlandish sometimes, eh?

Does McLaren have the edge in Asia normally? Or does it suit Ferrari more?

I've not really looked at who has the advantage on the tracks later in the season.
But it tends to be the top 4-5 constructors that push the hardest for points, so probably McLaren, Ferrari, BMW, Renault and maybe Toyota this year.

Hard to say since the Asian circuits are very different, both in age and layout....

Right now, the way I see it, it's pretty much 35/35/30 (mclaren/ferrari/bmw).

Toyota, sad to say, is not part of the equation at all.

I couldn't help but post this from a site i read it from...note this was posted just after the Canadian GP a few weeks ago..

Leaving aside the pitstop incident (you'd have to be stupid to deliberately risk messing up your own flying lap, and you don't get to be double world champion by being stupid) and the totally unnecessary intervention by the FIA, this weekend raised one major issue- who the hell does Lewis Hamilton think he is?

We're constantly have his 'humility' and 'respectfulness' pushed down our throats by ITV et al, yet we saw precious little of that this weekend. Apparently, after half a season in F1 he knows better than his team regarding strategy (because it *was* strategy, not team orders) and if they don't agree with that, to hell to them. He gave us some clue to his attitude when he referred to the backmarkers as 'monkeys' in Monaco, but one might reasonably have expected him to have some respect for Ron Dennis, a man who's been involved in motorsport for longer than Mr Hamilton has been breathing, and frankly without whom he wouldn't be in the privileged position he is today. He has demonstrated a total lack of respect and disregard for team ethics which sickens me. I was no Schumacher fan, but at least he conducted himself with dignity in his dealings with the team. We saw in Monaco that Hamilton is no team player and this was reinforced this weekend: he doesn't complain about team strategy when it is to his benefit, such as the fortuitous safety car period in Canada. Neither do I see any evidence of the agreement not to discuss his teammate unless he's present in the 'he's not speaking to me' whinge to the press.

No doubt the media will brush this aside, as 'Our Lewis' can't do anything wrong, but I doubt McLaren will be so quick to forgive such a kick in the teeth from someone to whom they've given every advantage.

Couldn't put it any more clearer really..

While I agree Hamilton can appear a bit cocky now and then, this story is incredibly biased and at times outright incorrect.

The team apologized to Hamilton after the race for having chosen a non-optimal strategy during the race - in fact on the team radio after he crossed the line.

In short - whatever criticism Hamilton may have had regarding that particular strategy, the team clearly agrees it was warranted.

Ignore him Jan. He's just jumping on the band wagon.......

As Jan said, totally biased and totally taken out of context. Same thing with the infamous monkey quote. He could of just meant cheeky raskles'.......

As for the Fernando thing, I think we all know who was the mardy bum there!

it seems people dislike hamilton for one main reason, they want to seem individualistic by going against the correct and widly held belief that lewis is a top driver and a top bloke. to do this they seives on every tiny word or action that could be construed as arrogance or petulance. actions they would certainly acept and defend indrivers they like. its a shame really.

No kidding. I used to have Alonso as my favourite driver for several years while he was fighting Schumacher, but that changed over night with his incredibly immature business at McLaren.

That gives you a right to moan?

Alonso got treated precisely according to his contract. No more, no less. He got exactly the same basis for success as Hamilton did, yet the simple bottom line of it all is that Alonso had a very hard time keeping the rookie behind him and eventually ended up behind him.

If you expect the team to grant you special privileges beyond that of the other team driver, you must at least realize the team will need you to perform better than your team mate. Alonso did not, no matter how you look at it - hence did not deserve any better (nor any worse) support from the team than his team mate got.

Well, they both finished on 109 last season.

It still bugs me that they have named Hamilton a legend!!

Here's a legends profile to avoid any confusion or people that agree with it:

As of the end of the 2007 Formula One season, Michael Schumacher holds the following F1 records:
Record Number
1 Championship titles 7 ( 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004)
2 Consecutive titles 5 (2000?2004)
3 Race victories 91
4 Consecutive wins 7 (2004, Europe?Hungary)
5 Wins with one team 72 (Ferrari)
6 Wins at same GP 8 (France)
7 Wins at different GPs 22
8 Longest Time between first and last wins 14 years, 1 month and 2 days
9 Second places 43
10 Podiums (Top 3) 154
11 Consecutive podium finishes 19 (US 2001?Japan 2002)
12 Points finishes 190
13 Laps leading 4741 (22,155 km)(125)
14 Pole positions 68
15 Front row starts 115
16 Fastest laps 76
17 Doubles (Pole and win) 40
18 Perfect Score (Pole, fastest lap and win) 22

Schumacher is a true f1 legend and i find it insulting sometimes that people can brand hamilton on the same level as schumacher or senna because if they had started in one of the front running teams in f1 they would of had more wins under there belts but they had to proove there worth in f1. Look how schumacher has helped ferrari he went there when they were a nothing team and when he left they were a major force. Schumacher is a true legend. Also i think ITV have a major part to play in why people do no like Hamilton because they keep ramming him down our throats. I remember back in the day were itv were equal with all british drivers but now they seem top support some big headed arrogant so ad so

No, you're missing the point. ITV Broadcasters called Lewis Hamilton a legend because he's a good driver in his rookie years. That's what bugged me.
I have no problems admitting He's a great driver, and i know he's bound to win a few championships, i just dislike the way the media put him across, oh and the fact he's getting a little agressive lately.

EDIT: just saw your post there stringer, and i agree, Lewis is probably a decent bloke on a good day!

not one single person can say Hamilton isn't a great driver. But the fact is Legends win championships. He hasn't as of yet.

Although i think he will win afew Championships i dont think he's deserves his legendary status yet.
