Which is what i got confused about, also i think you might of put one to may ''that's'' in as it's not really represntitive of 'real' engish grammar/sentencing!

But technically, the first "that" is said PRIOR to the quotation, so even though you are starting with a "that", you've already said one.

Wrong: I said "that that 'that'..."

Correct: I said that "That 'that'..."

Well...At the_end of the day I won't be writing essays or talking in conversations and saying I said that that that that that man or what ever.
Anyway. The riddle didn't make any sense because there should be a what in there. It won't make sense afterwards.
