i haven't had a problem with the orange ad at all. i only occasionly get lag but thats when i have got too many things open or my computer needs a restart. Thanks anyway Nick but i thought i'd let you know that there are no problems over in beannie world

I think its a shame Nick has had to do this, therefore hurting the site for something that is nothing to do with him.

for those affected, why didnt YOU just turn the ad off instead of moaning at Nick?

You'll be asking him for pocket money next...

And now for the rest of us, theres not even anything to look at, click, and browse while waiting for people to take thier shots anymore!

No, honestly i'm not.

Look, i wasnt able to play for months, and am now (just found out) after this mornings update, again unable to play (unless i wanna dial up with my laptop) due to lag.

I tried everything myself, and just stated the facts in several threads, however nothing worked for me.

If anyone, even ONE user, can play without lag then it is not, and can not, be a problem with funkypool. Its like asking Nick to help if media player crashes!

ok? Right, now i'm off to try to see if i can tweak my settings to make the game playable. No one can argue its the ads now, cause they aint there!

Phillipe didnt 'moan'. He reported a problem, which is one of the things the forum is for. A great many ppl had the same problem, and I mentioned this.

You gave your opinion. Others gave theirs. Nick obviously decided the ad may have been causing ppl problems, or he wouldn't have switched it off.

You were unaffected on this occasion, which is good. But don't moan at ppl for reporting problems in a polite, civilised manner in exactly the place they're supposed to do so.

As far as i can see it'll help you in your crusade to keep below 700 rank spinner lol. Keep the losses coming with lagg aid lol. Sorry m8 couldnt resist. I just dont understand why diff ppl have dif problems at diff times lol. strange.

Oh and like martin said surely if it wasnt anything to do with the ads nick wouldnt have take a money making ad off the game

i was just saying that my computer is fine with ads and i was just letting nick know that it wasn't everybody. the only ppl commenting on the thread were those who had lag probs so i thought it be helpful for nick. The game does look slightly bland without the adverts which is a shame. There are bound to be problems with lag from time to time but sometimes its not funkypool its your own computer and it looks as if you are finding something else to blame.

Sorry guys.. as far as anyone can gather from the forum, a grand total of 5 out of 40000 people had a problem with the ad...

Beannie is exactly right. How many of you reinstalled flash and java, ran the system monitor and task manager to check what was hogging processor time? Disabled the ads in any of the multitude of ways to do it, etc etc BEFORE posting on here?

I'm not "moaning", i'm simply trying to be realistic and sensible! Nick gives us a great site, and has enough to do without spoiling his revenue and the look of the site just to please a VERY small minority...

My computer cant play the game right now because of lag - should Nick give me a new one, or should i just sort it out myself?

but spinner, if your saying an ad cant cause probs, then surely taking it away cant cause probs?

ads afect different systems in different ways, spinner just cos it doesnt affect u dosnt mean its only a minority who suffer, it is irefeutable that adds do affect some ppl me included quite severly, and althought i would rather a site which runs a bit slower due to adds rather than a site that doesnt run at all due to lack of revenue, i feel it was good of nick to scrap the adds for the weekend until the orange add could be sorted

yes it can, its lost revenue for the site.

the ads are the only thing that keeps the site going untill the premium version comes along, but we all know that.

The best analogy would be complaining to Sony that your PS1 cant play a PS2 game so they have to sort the game...

I agree it could have been more than a minority affected, but most people would just accept it as their problem and get on with it!

We simply reported a problem we were having. Nobody bitched or whined. It was up to Nick if he considered the problem had anything to do with the ad, not you. And just because 5 ppl posted doesn't mean only 5 ppl suffered. Loads did - 80% of ppl I spoke to.

Nobody complained, nobody moaned, we just reported on the forum...as we are entitled to do without you criticising us when it didn't even affect you. It's all very well taking the moral highground (costing the site money etc), but we weren't asking for the ad to go, simply posting that it was causing a lot of ppl difficulty...which Nick seems to have agreed with.

You are pretty quick to speak up when there's something wrong for you (game times, golden breaks, rankings, playing newbies etc etc), so afford other ppl the same courtesy.

Martin - we wont let this descend into another stupid argument, but please just read the start of the thread. Whining and moaning in its purest form apart from Phillippe!

I'm not taking a moral high ground, i'm just being sensible.

As i have said before, the ads DO affect me, i just deal with them myself the same as, i would guess, since we never hear from them, a huge percentage of the 40000 users on here.

This issue is completely different from those affecting gameplay (such as those you mentioned), because it is absolutely nothing to do with this site. Go and report it on the Orange forums where it should be.

Actually, I dont know where the reference to other things came from (apart from game times - i cant see why that hasnt been made more sensible!), but the GB thing is obvious and ive always been outspoken about not caring about rank or who i play!
