I fully agree that a first week sub is far better than a last week sub. But we can't make a first week sub without removing the player from the clan! I'm sure if it wasn't that Ash would have had to remove the player from the clan he would have subbed far earlier. You would have to ask him though, I don't know him well enough to be certain of that! That's the point I was trying to make, the no sub rule has forced this game to a default.
Buckjam, I can't argue that the rules work in 99% of cases, but like all rules they are not watertight and this situation is one where I don't think it does work properly. And I have never claimed to be here to help you through the problem, I came over because snooker is full of people trying to avoid playing games and I was hoping over here I might actually get to play some games... this is a game site yes??? Why does everything have to be so political, just play games and enjoy it!!!

Actually this is a beautiful example, because a clamped car would still accrue parking tickets. If you do something wrong, whether it is your fault or not then you face and accept the punishment. If you fail to act even when you know you will be punished further then more fool you.
To use this example, it's not the polices fault that you need to be clamped. Whether you are clamped or not if you are in an area you can't park then you will get tickets for as long as you are there.
I've just messaged my uni friend currently studying law and they assure me in this case the parking tickets would not be enforceable as you have been prevented from moving the car, you would only be obliged to pay a parking fine for the time between your parking expiring and you returning to your car plus a release fee for the clamp. Maybe that example wasn't an exact analogy.
Consider taping someone's mouth shut and then punching them in the stomach if they couldn't say the alphabet. That's maybe more apt.
My girlfriend is in law and she says you're still liable for parking tickets, plus additional fines, release fees, impound charges, etc. and she gave several examples of people that has happened to.
Hardly apt, Phoenix weren't prevented from making a sub. They chose not to.
If you take the rules into a real life scenario, it would be like the police clamping a car for 2 weeks, then forcing you to pay for 2 weeks parking unless you sell it... When you think of it like that it's clear how stupid it is.

Ang: Andy said he cant get his laptop fixed, something about not being able to find the bloke who was fixing it.
All rules talking aside a genuine question, Hey Ash, do you plan on removing Andy or keep him in for two weeks and sub in third week?
i don't mind either as i'm fairly flexible and dislike defaults

We couldn't sub in the first 2 weeks. I would have definitely tried or made attempts to act and sub out our inactive player but we weren't permitted.
I question whether people do actually read or even be bothered to read posts instead of just 'selecting' parts and replying with such irrelevant and useless tripe.
Also it was the FIRST fixture set, we had nothing to base any decision upon to start or not. It was just an occurrence and unfortunate situation we found ourselves to be in. I acted as soon as the rules permitted/allowed me to do so and that was to encourage and assist with getting the fixture completed. The fact nothing (no effort) was reciprocated during the 'permitted stage' left us having to fend and deal with a lackluster attitude and inept Captain for the entire week.
Correct our efforts will only be determined by the fact we could only act during 1 of the 3 weeks but that being said the 2 weeks also doesn't show NOR justify the oppositions efforts neither. No one made any efforts in the 1st 2 weeks if the truth be known, week 3 we tried our hardest and faced stubbornness.
Yet we are the most likely to face being penalized...that's where the unbalance and unfairness with these rules lie IMO. I understand that selecting an inactive player is neither helpful nor accommodating for both sides but we didn't select them to be obstructive in the 1st place.
Only thing I did wrong was keep our player in 14 days should've removed them.

Even games in both the 8 ball games, could've gone either way, but I didn't deserve one let alone two of the 9US games, was blessed with some insane luck in the first frame and the second frame I gifted away an easy clearance. Happy overall though, Harry has come along in leaps and bounds in recent years and it's not often I get a positive result against him these days!

At least 2 other clans this season have removed inactive players to make sure games are completed, knowing about this rule. Ourselves included. Why should Phoenix get to leave a player in for 14 days, when the other clans are taking them out after 7? We all have to toe the same line here.
We currently have 2 different Phoenix players that we can't play. One if off for 20 days and the other says he can't play until the end of February. Over the last few seasons Phoenix have become synonymous with this kind of behavior. Rather than being pig headed and complaining about the rules, why not try to adapt to them instead?
For the love of all things good and right just give us ONE sub out the TWO????? Anything!!

The rules allowed you to remove a player at any time it was highlighted before the season started that leaving an inactive player in a fixture would go against a clan. What are you basing that no one made effort in the first 2 weeks, BS removed a player provided a sub and that sub managed to play several other games so your post is inaccurate. But until all information is provided no one knows the default score, it is just being presumed with the obvious information which may prove to be correct but it may not.

If I were to feed my dog Bruce too much bounce one day, then take him on a walk, but he were too bloated to walk,so he laid down on some double yellows outside andyw1s laptop repairmans house for two weeks
1) How much would the fine be?
2) Whod win the default Bruce or Andy ?
3) Would ash tie his paws together to stop him sending messages?
4) How old is Horse in dog years

"Only thing I did wrong was keep our player in 14 days should've removed them." When you put it like that, the only thing Scorpions did wrong was keep a player in 5 days when he should've been subbed out. You can say you weren't allowed to sub in the first two weeks all you like, you had the chance to and others have done so with more active players. They couldn't try everything to get it done in the first two weeks because you didn't give them an active player.
If I wanted to avoid removing one of my best players I would accept the consequences of that.

1) There was no fine, the double yellows had been temporarily removed for the road to be resurfaced and so weren't eligible till the following monday.
2) Neither, andy's repairman won the default as he had the computer for an entire 2 weeks.
3) Yes but in vain because the dog would bark the messages instead.
4) Two thirds of Bruce's age in horse years.

* Removing the player would've a knock affect on other fixtures and when I were told he'd be online and returning soon why should i remove him from the team. Had i not been informed about his possible return then and only then would a removal IMO be justified.
We aren't blessed with that many players neither as you seem to allow other sides to build and build when teams with less players should take precedence. So I'm not just going to remove players just for the sake of it. The fact subs are only permitted in the 3rd week and they are unlimited is there to assist us to complete all fixtures. Your 2 week rule just encourages teams to rest against a 'safety net' and apply zero cooperation or assistance with getting fixtures played (all).
Which is what should be encouraged 1st and foremost not the politics in who's been active etc...who cares. Stuff defaults, scrap them - ALL fixtures get completed, no one can say they were covered with applying no effort.

Ash if you keep Inactive players in Fixtures and Do not remove them then its your own fault that it leaves the fixture down to the last week so you cant complain Neither can you expect to win the default by claiming we made no effort in the last week , You cant expect a player to wait around 14 days doing absolute nothing in his fixture and messaging an inactive player . You had many chances to remove the player and sub in joeyy alot earlier and the match would of definitely get played as ego was Very active in the 2 weeks. But it all boils down to you being stubborn and thinking you know best insted your making many errors along the way and blaming Rules .
For some reason you feel keeping inactive players in fixtures will get matches played in hope of them returning eg shadows , andyw1 but all it does is hinda the match.
