I just registered on here but been a member on snooker for about 6 years now (or even more?) so I think I am quite used to clans and captaining those.

but then there is no penalty for the player that has disappeared without giving anyone any notice? I don't see a great degree of harm in de-registering a player from a set he's not going to play in anyway, and then re-registering them before the next set? In that example the sub is allowed to be made, and the player is penalized for pulling a Houdini. Seems perfect to me!

I suggested a relaxation on the subs rule that if a player goes inactive (at any time of a fixture) then they be permitted to be subbed out not just necessarily removed from the team.

Say over 5 days only.

I think league rules shouldn't punish anybody personally. In that way it would be up to the clan to take consequences outta this kind of behaviour. And probably there is/was some reason for the absence of the player without being able to give notice.

Sad times guys.
Constant moaning about inactive players is starting so much crap.
People need to realise that The Clan League isn't the 'be all and end all'.
Sometimes there is nothing that can be done about these inactive players. We don't get together like we do in our Ordinary/local teams. Don't see each other face to face, and therefor aren't privy to the actual circumstances.
Defaults are always gonna happen. We try our best to avoid them.
It seems that some folk are determined to push and push even tho they are probably on the more favourable side for winning a default decision.
No need! Dynamos have been struggling but others have been far too quick to start rows when all that can be done to get matches played, is being done.

This recent development has been coming tbh Gaz. You could tell that Zac has had enough all season, he was just looking for a reason. Every mail he sent me sounded like he was on the verge of an emotional breakdown, and was incredibly defensive when I was being nothing but pleasant. If you have a clan with short numbers, you have to try and recruit everyday, mailing almost any free agent you see online - and they've frankly not done anywhere near enough of that this season.

I also think it's a huge shame, and a 5 team league is tragic - but to blame it on people requesting subs etc.. probably isn't the main reason for this outcome. Everyone points the finger at the declining player base, which obviously isn't ideal - but the biggest problem on funkypool clan wise is captains. If we had 8 Ash's, we'd have an 8 team league. It's a lot of time sacrificed to run a clan, but we have enough players that spend all day on here - you'd think one of those would have the gumption to step up?

Sad time: Pocket Dynamos Folding.

Every team faces it's struggles and yeah inactive players are prevalent and will always continue to exist. So what that's life and means they are living theirs and pretty much have their priorities straight, work, family, social lives etc.

As much as I quarrelled with PDs Captains in the past (not recently) it's a real shame to see them fold and imo take the easy option out. punkpoet and ang3l did a great job keeping their existence for a long time, I'm sure they've faced even tougher times than they were facing now too.

They've been struggling for active players for a while but never once did I see or hear any SOS calls, no asking for support. I think out of respect to their players who many were loyal and endured their highs and lows for a fair while lasting until the end of the season would have been a better way to finish with their dignity. It's been coming as for a season possibly more comments about; having enough, cba'd, not enjoying it anymore have been posted.

Last night falling out with FPD's over such miniscule things were silly in itself but the end result being to Fold just blows everything out of proportion.

IF there is any way to accommodate and possibly reform a team with their players then I genuinely think we should all try to make it happen.

Teams will have rough and tough times its getting through them together which makes them stronger. Sorry to see Pocket Dynamos go.

Imagine you was a deranged serial killer, but you didn't have time for all the murder because you spend 18 hours a day on funkypool. One of the few remaining teams fold and puts the very existence of the leagues in doubt. That's EIGHTEEN hours of uninterrupted homicide! I think the stakes are pretty high tbh mate!

Haha if anymore fold we may end up with a few lol.

Just remember guys this is just an online game at the end of the end, as long as it doesn't affect your real life in anyway who really gives a f.

It's pretty shocking they folded over such a miniscule thing .. Did seem like they were just waiting for an excuse.

Me and Bucky have been discussing next season for a while now.. We definitely have more than enough players for 6 teams .. It's just clans are reluctant to sign poorer players and expect another count_raven to pop up and not inmediately join firestorm or uprising.

I have always been interested in returning to captaincy but fear I would cause more arguments than I would care to feature in.

Arguments like last night can be avoided if people and captains weren't just so stupid. Making a swap to suit one player (when the game could have been played that very same night) with 17 days left till the deadline just plain and simple isn't good captaining

Plain and simple, the players are there if someone is willing to step up. FPD have like 18 or 19 players currently because nobody else wanted them. There are more than enough to go around, I believe

So we're allowing new clans to join mid-season now and allowing them to take players from other teams and play immediately for the new clan? How does this work... This doesn't help clans it destroys them.

I'm all for new clans next season but for this to go ahead is beyond stupidity with literally 2 fixture sets and the cup to go...

I would be the first to leave clans if this goes ahead, and I hope I wouldn't be the only one.

Currently on the list I can see, 5 out of the 6 on it are PD's players. If they fulfill the PD's fixtures - what on Earth is the problem? The one player he has listed that isn't a PD - volunteered to go and went with our best wishes!

If this goes ahead I would be leaving clans for good and I feel that buckjam may be forced into folding FPD, something he doesn't want to do, but how else to protest such a stupid, anger-provoking rule.
