If only Leicester had won last night, although they are still in a better position now after tonights results.

How long is Kante out for? massive blow for them, what a player he is.

I watched the Arsenal game on MOTD last night, as some of the others but jesus how many times can you smash the frame work and still come out with a loss I see that bet slowly slipping away on that one anyway

what are your opinions on the idea of the champions league being a "closed competion".
for those unaware. theres talk of only big teams like chelsea man city/united arsenal and liverpool being allowed, rrgardless of league position.
so in theory leicester and spurs who are top 4 wouldnt get in but mid table chelsea would...

personally think its rubbish leicester and spurs have earned the right.
unsure when or if this will come to pass.

Unfortunately money talks in football these days. I've always believed that the Champions League should only be for the champions of each country's top league, not for the 2 or 3 best teams from the biggest leagues in Europe. 54 member associations...could easily switch to 9 groups of 6 teams and spread the wealth across all countries

I think it is rubbish, you earn the right all through a season too gain that kind of experience and chance at a world wide competition regardless of your team name and history. Look at Chelsea, mid table and would be in it straight away. Spurs are consistent and have money they are a big team and should be named in that too and after this season i see Leicester spending as much as possible to regain the title (i think they have it so worded it like that)

we could've had all 3 points and yet again
blew it

saving grace for us Norwich, Villa and them all lost

no game for us next week, as Everton are in cup action
could work well for us to freshen up

its going to be 3 from 4 now

I still think the derby is going to decide this
McClaren looks to be on his way

David Moyes is being touted as the new toon manager
hopefully a bit late for them

Moyes will only go there IF they survive Surely? I think the three relegated will be as it stands now. Villa, Norwich and Newcastle.

Sunderland are the only team in the bottom 4 appearing to fight and stave off any relegation. Villa are deflated completely and have no fight left in them at all. Did well to get to 0-0 vs Man City but then the flood gates opened. Norwich, okay they've scored a few but their defence seem to be non existent and Cameron Jerome is absolutely abysmal. Can see why Stoke City got rid tbh. He's consistent at being inconsistent in front of goal.

Newcastle I agree Craig they've left it too long now, they should have replaced McClaren a while ago IMO. He's a Championship manager not a Premier League one.

I somewhat disagree with you, it should be the elite teams who've earned their way. Having. Only champions In the competition means you could end up excluding Real Madrid vs Man City (based on last season) to include the champions of Gibraltar vs the champions of San Marino. You want the best of the best, which means some countries get more places, but they have to earn those places still and anyone can climb the rankings if their country is good enough. It means the little teams that break through are rewarded with games against a European giant rather than some minor country team that no one has heard of and no one will watch.

Definitely no European super league, that wouldn't work for countries other than Germany and Spain which have a huge domination by two (or a few) mega clubs. Certainly the premier league couldn't offer teams.

As for the Crystal Palace vs Liverpool game; if it was any other team (apart from United) I would have sympathy. But you have to take a win versus your bogey team any way it comes, especially down to 10 men.

especially when you cash out a liverpool win at 1-1 and miss out on £40 because you were making sure you break even

Just looked at your run in. Barring what should be a simple 6 points from Norwich and Villa, you have a tough set and I think you might struggle to hold your position in the table

Haha, well you've got Europa and FA cup games before City which might help/hinder. To be fair, if you win the games against City and West Ham you give yourself a massive boost. 6 pointers galore.

@ zante i do see your point and maybe it should be made more difficult for san marino teams...
but you cant sit and tell me chelsea and liverpool should be in the champions league and spurs and leicester shouldnt, based on this season. As odds are leicester or spurs will win the league.
cant have champions league without the champs (i hope leicester)
then i will name and shame the doubters ;)

My point was those teams shouldn't be in it because they are the big clubs, but the likes of Leicester and Tottenham should both be if they make the top 3/4. Not just whoever wins. Look at La Liga, would you say that only one of Real Madrid and Barcelona are going to be good enough? And that the champions of even decent football nations like Netherlands, Scotland, Russia and Portugal are more worthy just because they were able to beat teams in a poorer standard league? I think how it is now is right.

More elite teams from the elite leagues, that being based on the previous seasons standings (and the elite leagues being based on the coefficients), though still give the smaller nations clubs a chance through qualifications and the like. Even this season a place in the CL for the Europa winner is a great idea.

Can Leicester City replicate what they've managed to achieve next season? The answer is a no. The big teams have consistently been near the summit of their leagues for many seasons and therefore have nurtured and grown a massive fan base and franchise.

All credit to Leicester City for exceeding everyone's including their own expectations but I honestly can't even justify comparing a Leicester City (minnow) to say an Arsenal, Ajax and certainly not a Barcelona.

The New competition should and will only include the TOP teams who have the biggest revenues, reputation and can generate top income and worldwide interest for the actual game, that for me doesn't not include a Leicester City.

Leicester play by far the better football than any of the 'big' clubs, and have been more successful. They have some very good talent and it'll be about how many they can hold onto and how many good players they can bring in.

Leicester's fan base will no doubt increase plenty this season, and the style they play works and should work next season. I don't think they'll be in the same place next season because all the big clubs will be playing catch up on the summer having all had a sub par league season (Klopp at Liverpool, Pep at City, A new United manager most likely, new Chelsea boss). I think they will be top half definitely, fighting for Euro places but with Champs League pressure I don't think they'll break the top four again.

You definitely don't like Leicester Ash , still think they'll falter this season?

I like Claudio Ranieri, Mahrez, Vardy, Kante, Drinkwater, etc - never really understood why they released Knockaert and dislike a Team or group of supporters who think just because they've exceeded anyone's expectations in 1 season they deserve the accolade the same as a more established and world re-known team such as Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool.

IF they finish as Champions then fantastic - absolutely extraordinary achievement but seeing as it cannot and will not be replicated then they cannot be compared to a REAL Big/Major team.

I still think Man City will win the title, I think they'll win every fixture remaining and unfortunately their next Premier League match is vs their Rivals United.

Think Tottenham might fight all the way but won't edge Man City unfortunately.
