That wasn't even that weak a United side, taking out injured players. Shocking, but credit to Midtjylland they played well. Spurs squandered a chance at a good lead too and end up lucky to not lose.

Worried now

Has LVG been sacked yet???
(Still Waiting!!!)

LVG bemoans all the injuries right.....has he stopped to think it's his own doing? His training regimes when he first got appointed were scrutinised by a few such as Gullit, Muelensteen etc.

He's not only killing our players but he's killing the club and it's reputation Worldwide. United has flourished and been renown for its attractive football, never say die attitude and players enjoying themselves on the pitch and off it.

This season I sense no enjoyment, Ed Woodward is after a sponsor even day probably for a pin badge for his daily tie instead of embracing and keeping United as competitive as possible.

I for the love of God cannot understand how Love, Lingard, McNair, Varela, Fellaini, Mata (been crap), Rooney also are constantly picked to play.

We need Mourinho someone with some balls and backbone who will not hesitate to make and take decisions, drop players, improve the playing squad and tactics. Show passion from the side lines and most of all WANT and TRY to win at all costs.

Giggs to me as great a player and servant he's been to the Club is equally to blame for the woeful crap we are playing under LVG.

Rant over

I don't think he can bemoan injuries, because a few other teams have had more. Plus, we just had a transfer window. If you were that desperate then surely you'd need to loan a few.

I still don't think Mourinho is quite the right fit for what you want, I'd say someone like Simeone is the style you are after. Do you really want to go from LVG's conservative play to Mourinho's 1-0 then park the bus?

You'd definitely improve with Mourinho even if it is just the new manager effect. But the long term goal would be success built on defence, where Fergie built it on attacking until the 100th minute (or the 90th if you had the lead at 90 minutes ). But look at this season for Mourinho, same approach that won the league put Chelsea in a relegation battle. When his defence leaks goals, his approach does not work. With all your defensive worries this season, I would have some concern unless he overhauled the defence.

only one person could do this job and in the right way

but united would poop themselves

this guy is the right fit
for everything united stand for

just a shame United wont look at him

but they did look at Fergusson

Not yet but one for the future - Pochettino I guess could BUT Mourinho is respected worldwide regardless of the way he left Chelsea.

Players got him the sack - I happen to think the players at United; their performances are screaming out for change - Mourinho has to be the best guy to go in there, revamp the squad, reinvigorate the passion, bring his tactical expertise, reputation and contacts list and get United back to where we belong - the TOP.

We need to ACT Now before it's too late - Conte i reckon will go Chelsea, Simeone stay with Atletico Madrid, Mourinho United. Probably the summer BUT no time like the present.

I don't see how the players got Mourinho the sack, he is a cult hero at Chelsea even for the players. They wouldn't try to get him sacked because they know he is capable of winning them the title like he did last season even if they wrote off this season. There were players publicly backing him and who were unhappy with his dismissal.

He destroyed himself with all the constant negativity, starting from a bad pre-season and going from train wreck to train wreck each week. He demoralised the players, it's his job to get them motivated and seeing your manager explode at colleagues, receiving several punishments and generally looking like he has lost the plot will have an effect.

ive got to say as a fellow united supporter myself i have to agree with zante on this one, while i do rate Mourinho very highly as one of the best managers in the world in my opinion, but is he the right person for the job? i'm a bit uncertain, while he got chelsea playing attractive football first half of last season, in the second half he tightened them up defensively which was tactically brilliant but was it fun to watch them play? plus i think barring results its not like man utd have played any match at there best yet, maybe a few but most games we are crying for them to attack more. results is of course the most important thing, but id much rather have a man utd team which wins a game 4 - 3 then 1 - 0. Although if mourinho does come to United i cant say i wont be excited, as it stands surely anyone is better than LVG

I hope you didn't think I was a United fan?

Mourinho famously said he'd rather win 1-0 than scoring a lot and conceding 1 (I can't remember the exact score)

Oh no not at all it did look that way though my bad haha

yeah that does ring a bell, thats what im worried about, but who knows what will happen. I havent seen many games this season where united have been the better team but they have lost, when we have lost we have usually been outplayed

I agree to a certain extent about Mourinho and the defensive style of play at times but I'd rather win 1-0 than lose to mediocre teams who on paper we should be pummelling.

Regaining some sense of play and identity would be a great start and there is no one better than Mourinho IMO. He's a proven winner in Portugal (Porto), Italy (Inter Milan), Spain (Real Madrid), England (Chelsea). So whatever he does it certainly isn't that boring and appears to be a recipe for success.

United this season and the end of the last appear to have no appetite to play decent football or even try to win. It was good to see some raw emotion the other night from Smalling when the 2nd goal was conceded. We need more of that and need players to stand up and be counted.

Failing that they can leave through the Exit door with LVG leading the way, the sooner the better.

Best I've seen him play, ripping their defence to shreds.
