Sunderland deserve the win - United were woeful (played okay in spells but still shoddy) - Sunderland looked and played with more hunger and appetite. Why the HELL is Blind taking corners? Useless.

LVG OUT - MOURINHO IN 100%

Sunderland v Man Utd

I hope we can get a draw here
but fingers crossed again I guess

1-0 up 3 minutes in, I think you've aimed low

Nothing worse than a negative fan

Right now, the old top 4 is dead. Chelsea slowly coming back from their near relegation battle, Liverpool stop starting up and down uppermid table, United hovering below top four but only doing enough to keep LVG in a job just about. Only Arsenal doing the business, and they need to beat a team that was deep in the relegation zone this time last season to stay in the title race.

Through what is on paper out the window, this season is magic!

A Day in the Life of a Sunderland Supporter
Zante

nothing negative about me
the table doesn't lie

the question I ask as a long term suffering supporter
is how can the players get up for performances against big teams and constantly get results

Man City were very lucky to win 1-0
Liverpool 1-1
Man Utd 2-1 win

unreal series of results again, why not against West Brom, Norwich and the rest, its questions we as fans ask constantly

however rating one of the new players

Kone is totally outstanding, a giant in defence

well happy today, may even watch Shearer tonight blaming United instead of praising Sunderland

Good to here Sunderland fans chanting the song about Johnson, totally gut wrenching knowing that
son of a B_ _ _ _ did it all along

should've been sacked along time ago, was guilty all the time, gutted we heard she was in an over 21 night club and that's how it happened
he knew all along she was under age, simply disgusting
should jail the SOB for a minimum of 10 years IMO

Dodgy penalty but if Arsenal were on the receiving end they'd cry penalty all day long. Leicester look the better side and Kante is awesome. Possibly the New Makalele?

Gotta feel for Leicester, a hell of a lot of work put in for no reward. I think every neutral is gutted right now.

Where's the Villa atmosphere? Not much fight in players or fans, just frustration and resignation it seems.

Sturridge has to go to the Euros if he is fit, but there might be a tough selection for Hodgson. I think Rooney's place is under threat, which is a big issue for a captain, I just hope Hodgson doesn't just put him in for who he is.

As for this game, so far it's not been much of a test. But now the test is can we hold this lead, maybe even a clean sheet? That is now the test, not to throw things away like we have recently.

if sturridge is fit he has to go. same for kane and vardy. So 1spot left. Does Rooney deserve it more than Welbeck? ermmm struggled for more strikers. Berahino?

Well at least you aren't a Villa fan

All in all that was very positive! (Obviously)

- held on to the clean sheet
- showed our teeth for once and converted a decent amount of our chances
- 6 different scorers
- Kolo Toure is now more prolific than Eden Hazard
- No Mignolet mistakes
- Won when we weren't at our best
- No injuries (Sturridge in particular)

Kane and Vardy have earnt it, Sturrridge has been plagued by injuries but still is clinical and looks sharp. Rooney hasn't impressed, Welbeck has a chance now to have a run in and earn a place (like Sturridge still has to have a run of games). Berahino shouldn't go, he's decent but he's not had the games and his attitude has been poor.

Not sure we really have many other options, Defoe? Walcott upfront?

It was quite dull at times, mainly highlighted Villas poor quality. Second half was worth watching till the last 15 minutes. Was no atmospher whatsoever, very few chances for Villa and more of a training exercise than a match but a good training session.

Sturridge if fit
Kane
Welbeck
Rooney
Wallcott
Defoe for me

no place for Vardy

Sturridge and Welbeck
will scare the hell out of any defence

No Vardy? He does more than Rooney and Defoe, more goals than both of them combined. Top goalscorer, scoring worldies, scoring consistently. Only Kane is on par with him this season.

Welbeck I don't rate. I think a top quality work rate covers a less than top quality finishing. Goals are what we need and Vardy will give that.

Would be more worried by a trio of Sturridge, Vardy and Kane than Sturridge and Welbeck. 6 Strikers seems a lot too.
