"berating league runners because you don't know what they do"





There are several digs you've made about some people not doing enough work for the title of league runner ^ which backs up what I said perfectly. Since you refer to that specific post though...


- You mention 3 names when you know there are more than 3 people involved with the running of the leagues.

- You mention Sarah doing the bulk of the unseen work, again I say how could you know this if the work is unseen? Simple answer is you don't.

- Another dig at people "earning" the title of runner.

- You say "again" a big well done to all as if you have already said it to the people who do the work. You hadn't thanked other people you deemed unworthy of praise so by saying "again" you are excluding them. Lucky that people don't help out for praise.

People have been put off the roles because of how people act, writing off any effort they make because you can't see it is not being grateful. There's more to running the leagues than updating fixtures and doing results. Maybe if you let people do their specified roles instead of publicly announcing they haven't earned the right to be called a league runner, we could bring more people in who aren't put off by poor attitudes.

I think there will be more things going on behind the scenes in the off season to help with next season and I expect a busy discussion thread to get everything set in place. If there is an idea used which you don't agree with, I hope people will accept it at least an not brand it a joke because they didn't get their own way. Lets get the key issues sorted.

We need to increase the win bonus to about 50 to change that lol

I do think zante they people see on results page me and sarah posting done, which shows that we have inoutted the scores, but as you say everyone dies different stuff though i only know what i do.
And yeah alot of people are nit very thankful on here like when im nit player killer and take uo and hour and half of my time with no thanks, is a little annoying if im honest lol.

Yeah fixture 4 hasnt been added.
if you look at fix 4 pds won 2.
Though is interesting at that point fpds won 2 and 2 above won 1 and fpds so far behind....
but over all you have to add fix 4 too

The 50 point win bonus would change that
It's simple though. Either you remove the win bonus and go by frames. Or, if you prefer team wins, go with a football-type system with points for fixture wins.

Well if revs had beaten fpd and bs as they nearly did, due to the win bonus it would of been possible for them to place higher than pds, even though we beaten them twice!!!!
Which would of been odd.

I guess you're like craig then, in wanting all the leagues your way!

You think team matches should decide the competition, that's fine. Everyone doesn't feel that way though. Some think frame count should, some others think indiv matches should.
The point I've been trying to make is there's room to do a competition each way.
I'm suggesting 2 of the 4 remain your way! (SL and Cup)
FBL would remain keith's way (indiv matches)
FCL would simply drop the bonus points, straight frame count (mine and klien's way), team matches would mean nothing, just like FBL

Just saying that it should be either no bonus at all or points for the fixture win.

What we currently have is a compromise between the 2 methods, you get extra from team match wins, but a huge lead in frame count could still counter team match count (not very often though with 20).
The compromise is already in favor of team match count with 20!
10 would be more even I think, more 50/50 if you will. (but only if we can't finally just drop the bonus points and have everyone's preferred scoring method in control of something).
When discussing FCL, everyone tends to forget that 2 other competitions already count team match wins.

the other 2 are different Been

SL
1 awards 2 points for winning the overall match
team a wins 65-35
only gets awarded 2 points with an additional point for scoring x frames (i think)

FBL
1 awards 2 points for a player winner or looser
team a wins 12-4
the teams that wins gets 12 points


both are regardless of frames won though

Also FCL/SL, Had a good season despite couple poor results so hope to achieve my 50% target

The 2 I was referring to was SL and Cup, of course they're slightly different but I was right in saying they count team match wins. The only way to win those is by winning the most team matches.

Fbl on the other hand, gives you nothing for winning the team match. Any points awarded are for winning individual matches. You can win without winning the most team matches! Win all your team matches and still lose!
But you don't have a problem with it? wanting all the leagues to be your way and all....

I like the variety btw, just need one league that counts frames (without compromise) and we'll have it all

I agree with Been to an extent. I'd have no problem with there being one league that was purely down to the frame count - but not the FCL. That's our flagship competition, and really shouldn't be messed about with anymore.

Maybe add bonus points into the FBL, and convert the SL into a longer format, with no bonus points, and utterly decided by frames won? I still think it's a bit boring, and would make teams pick their best 8 players every single game, but at least the people that have wanted that format for many seasons would get their day in the sunshine.

A note for all clan captains for next season, if I remain running the leagues, the 3 Chips n Gravy players who were banned this season for breaking league rules are banned until further notice. If any captain chooses to sign them if they create new accounts and I find out that the clan were aware who they were signing I would not hesitate to punish the clan involved.
