I have to agree with fuunky, City were the poorest they have looked in a very long time, but maybe thats because there was no Kompany to marshall them, and Yaya was playing far too deep for his own liking.

If city can get Jovetic firing on all cylinders like he did at Fiorentia, and when he played against England a couple of years ago, city will be unstoppable, the best defence in the league, the best midfielder and the best strike force...

But then again, nothings certain in the prem is it

I know you were saying that I have agreed with you several times about it, it's not a missed point at all. We planned for the likelihood of him leaving by putting his minimum. release fee up to 75 million and excluding domestic clubs from this fee to stop him joining a rival (like Arsenal or Chelsea). Suarez wasn't going to be long term, it was we'll documented he wanted to play in Spain so it was only a matter of time.

He made his position untenable at the World Cup, after we signed Lambert. Lambert is a third striker, not a Suarez replacement. Not sure how many times I'm gonna tell you that before it sinks in to you.

We can't replace an irreplaceable player, what we can do is bring on a new player who fits the system. Remy was the planned player t that isn't happening, I don't think Cavani or Falcao fit but Reus would be a great fit if we got him (not optimistic about us signing him).

I think the best thing for all parties is for Borini to go to Sunderland, that shouldn't depend on us getting another striker because he was outside the 3 striker positions anyway

£4 Million for Wickham is an insult, he's not on the level of some of the other young players but his value to Sunderland is priceless particularly with Borini not being there yet

The problem with Wickham is that he has less than a year on his contract. If Sunderland cannot get him to sign a new one, or he doesn't want to sign a new one, then it becomes a choice of either £4M now or one season of him in the team and then nothing if he leaves next summer. Depends which of those two choices is considered to be the better 'value'.

Everything says he signed a four year deal in the Summer of 2011 and everyone is reporting it expires next summer.

But it's your club.

he signed a four year deal that's right Chris
but he is under contact as a youth player for the additional year so we can get compensation for him

its why he has been told sign or be sold now
we are looking for ££10 million +

if we keep for the additional year we will get around £5 million hence west hams cheeky offer

to be fare to connor he has said he wants to sign a new deal

the club has said to wait until transfer business is done

Season ain't started yet, his 2nd last night were a fortunate ricochet from off the post from Schuurles shot. 1st were in 1st minute. Hardly prolific for the other 88 minutes lol

Agreed but the other 3 were great goals, he's doing something Torres hasn't bin able do already tho, he'll be a cracking signing for Chelsea imo same with fabregas.

Hardly prolific for 88 minutes but has taken his chances when he got them, that's what makes a great striker incase you wernt aware!!

Yeah I know, he's taking chances very well but will be interesting see how he deals with tighter marking and more robust tacklers. Very good player but not sure if cut out for Premier League what with injuries and all.

We'll see, I think NUFCs 3 strikers might be ones to watch especially Riviere and Fereyra more so than Costa.

Don't think it'll happen, we have Lambert who fits that role and Lambert's wages are less than half of what Eto'o wants. I don't think the players we have bought are average at all, how can they be when they haven't been given the chance to prove themselves in the prem (apart from the Southampton boys, who already have proven themselves and were good enough to get into their respective world cup squads).

Markovic, Manquillo and Can have looked comfortable in the system. Last season, though Suarez was more prolific, Sturridge actually came in with more important goals. The squad depth is now there and Manquillo is definitely a prospect for signing of the season considering how cheap he came in.

Coutinho was in the same bracket as those three mentioned when he was brought in. His market value is now more than double what we paid for him, a good season in the CL will only increase that

United on a Spending Spree in next 48 Hours:

Cuadrado - Barcelona have dropped out
Vidal - Hernandez OR and Nani plus cash (40m)
Di Maria - 55m Euros
Benatia - as hummels is now Captain of Dortmund
Blind - Seen house hunting in Manchester today
Rojo - Forcing through the transfer - despite being disciplined.
??? Reus - Still not righting this one off just yet. ???

Those 6/7 will do and a cryptic clue for another signing 'a wine forward' (Striker/Forward)

Suarez was more prolific, Sturridge actually came in with more important goals

This will be Sturbridge's biggest test ever, having no Suarez defenders can concentrate on him now
because you can be sure Sturridge wasn't the defenders worry last season

now the eyes will be on Sturridge as the he becomes the lead striker, so much added pressure on him to
he has big feet to follow, lets hope he can step up

this will be a very interesting time for Liverpool and dealing with the loss of Squarez
