Valdez is happy to be Number 2 - DDG will sign a new contract soon too. Then finally can build a defence lol - Hummels to start with as he's our Primary Target may get Gundogan for 16m too - Mata could be off to Juve.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered Number 32 shirt - happy to be a team player and acknowledges DDG is the Number 1. So he rejected being #1 at Liverpool to be #2 at United - CLASS LOL !!!!

Rumours are also circulating L.Suarez wanted by LVG - That would be funny but I wouldn't like to see it, cracking player mind. Guess it's the Press having a Feeding Frenzy, makes a change from it being Suarez himself.

Once again, the deal to Liverpool fell through because he wanted assurances of being number on which we wouldn't give. With our club policy we wouldn't give such an old player a number one spot. Reina is better than Valdes and we let him go because he wanted to be number one. Why would we give that to Valdes?

Lol Reina were better than Valdes, yeah right.
Suppose David James were too.

Face it, he refused being your Number 1 to be Uniteds number 2. That's how much belief, ambition, aspiration your offer and those who offered it expressed.

Don't blame him joining us, will keep DDG on his toes and I'm sure LVG knows what he's doing. ALL we need now is some Centre Backs (preferably Hummels & Varane (if not Hummels then Howedes) a Right Back (S.Coleman or J Cuadrado) and a DMC for back up to Blind/Carrick so would like (Strootman or Lucas Silva). Then we'll be fine, Another Striker in James Wilsons place wouldn't be a problem neither just not L.Suarez. M.Depay would be a nice signing.

Cuadrado isn't a RB, if you watch him, he rarely strays into his own half, a shockingly bad tackler, would never fit in with the ethos that LVG wants.

Coleman would be a good shout, as he is sometimes prepared to defend, and with Evertons current situation, he might relish being back up to Rafael

lol relish being backup to rafeal yeh right, Liverpool supporter but safe to say coleman is probably best right back in the league. In a top side would be able to show even more what he can do

Oh he would be first choice over Rafael, he's more of a wingback too so the 3-5-2 (wingback) formation would be perfect with Luke Shaw over on the left wing. Rafael needs a lot more composure, timing with his tackles, passing ability which Coleman already possess. I think being in a Bigger and much Better side that in itself can only help his game and him as a person. The experience he will get from being part of the CL next season will be priceless.

It does make more sense now, that advanced talks would break down because Valdes was waiting for a better offer. Which came in the form of a trial which he commented Liverpool never offered one after talks broke down. 3 months or so later he gets that contract.

Don't think so, I'd need a pair of your rise tinted glasses to be that gullible

And Ash, now please explain why any of these world class players that could play for any team, would play for a team that isn't even in a European team? Don't say prestige, because United have lost that. Don't say fan support because that's hardly been solid since Fergie left. Even money is less of an issue for more and more teams these days!

We are and still the BEST team in England - LVG is a World Reknown manager who is respected by many, players have played under him before and will if the opportunity arise like to do so again.

There are a lot of players who would like to play for United as they are one if not the BIGGEST team on the planet. So yes they are re-known. Manchester City have tried to overtake them but IMO they just stand out even more as try-hards. The ONLY way another English team can take United's place as the BEST is to replicate their success, their franchise and commercial ability Worldwide.

Where the other top sides in England; Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham all have some top quality players they still lack in the stature of Manchester United IMO.

This is a new beginning since Sir Alex has gone, we replaced Moyes when I never wanted him, I wanted Mourinho so to have LVG and his reputation at the helm then only can see more and more promising times, with promising and quality players.

My opinion - I dont expect or ask anyone to agree.

In what way are United currently the best team in England? They are currently a shade of their former selves and pale in comparison to Man City and Chelsea.
