Anyone that wanted to reach the top of the 'rankings' would not play tournaments then. And then the 'rankings' would no longer paint a true picture like they didn't before.

To be fair i used to play both ranked and tournys back in day, was top 10 overall consistently, i don't mind the tournys being ranked but think the ranking system needs tweaking to how it used to be, but other than that im glad its back to hourly tournys again

To be fair, lots of people complained about too many tournies, now they've changed it, and other people are not happy.

No matter what is done, you can't please everyone, the admin have done their best to keep players happy, but not everyone will be happy.

See how it goes for a few weeks, and then judge it. I personally have noticed more games available to play now, which I think is great.

How do you tweak the ranking system back to how it used to be and keep ranked tournaments?

Just as an example, a certain player has recently reached 500 tournaments overall and in the old days you would have received numerous pm's and certainly had a thread created and what not for a congratulations....threads used to be created at every 100 tournament wins congratulating the players because it actually used to be an achievement and had some sort of meaning, you can win 100 in a month nowadays

Spot on there, impossible pleasing everyone for sure, just seems a bit unfair that the standards have been lowered so much as to where the person with the most credentials is going to be the person who spends the most time on the site.

And that was in no way intended to be offensive or anything along those lines, just a personal opinion.

The rank should be changed regardless, i knew what i was capable of in both tournys and rank as i always won and was near the top in rank so its not really painting a picture as you put it.

tournapoints was the worst thing to happen on here ha

yeah i remember those threads marc thats why im glad the hourly tournys are back, but its already been ruined as average players have won a few hundred tournys playing in the tournaments with less than 16 people at a time or even less

And for those moaning about the hourly tournys are the newbies and moaning cause they never win a tournament unless everyones in bed asleep and bye it to the final

TournaPoints are only one aspect. Yes for those events someone spending more time and playing more tournaments has a greater chance of winning than someone playing less. There is nothing wrong with that. It also makes sense as a site to reward people that spend more time on here. That said, TournaPoints didn't work for Micros as not everybody could enter them equally with them being limited to eight entrants.

Regarding tournament wins, there are now only two more per day than there were previously (leaving aside the period of two tournaments per hour), and that may possibly change shortly too. So other than tournaments having less average entrants, which we can't do anything about, numbers of tournament wins is the same achievement it always was.

Why? because it was more fun and competitive with the old ranking system. if you did a poll i'll guarantee more people will prefer the old system.

I don't think it would make any difference if they didn't or did change the rank in tournaments i wouldn't mind losing rank if i lost in a tournament, obviously everyone has their own opinion but feel the old ways will suit everyone.

By competitive you mean having a system where players could reach number one by carefully selecting who they played and avoiding anyone they didn't fancy!!

I still don't see how you want it changed. The opportunity to find or pick an opponent and play as many ranked games as you want still exists. It's just that the rewards are rightly less than for where you have no such control.

old ranking was loads better i know of many players who would vote to bring it back and it could bring back more players in to game

I always played everyone in ranked so don't even start on that one but everyone was as bad as each other in that sense.

It's funny when I read tournament wins mean nothing

I've played and beaten many great players on this site and unlike most I haven't been gifted any

It's funny when people complain about micros and say it helps not having them, I've watched daily entry levels in tournaments
It's a joke to say entry levels are up, tournament wins are gifted in the early hours when 2 or 3 players entered
So how does binning micros make them wins more honourable and prestigious, ?

I entered a 5 man straight tournament the other day and was one of my best wins ever
I beat sunk7, tinie a virt and Marc a legend

I guess the clowns say it's a worthless win

All that has happened here is a restriction of choice has been placed upon us by a minority that don't even play in tournaments

I've said many times if you want ranked games make the rooms
But because of egos people won't because their scared they may loose their prestigious ranks

Choice if you don't like it don't play in it
