The format is pretty much set in stone, but if there is an overwhelming majority wanting a certain thing then changes can be made before the season start. So far there hasn't been any so no changes will be made.

Well people have been having problems, that's the point I'm making. There were huge problems last season, the numerous changes made are a testament to that.

There is negativity towards the changes, the past few pages on this thread prove that. Changing the format for the sake of it when not necessarily broken is the main concern.

Overwhelming majority, not every one will bother to post how they really feel as in the past their grievances or idea were ignored or brushed under the carpet. What makes the new league runners think the attitude of others will be any different?

There were only a few modifications required, length of straight matches, killer (incorporated), scoring system. Instead the whole format has been changed.

Each to their own I guess.

As all three leagues are asking for team lists at the same time, if you provide us with one we will use it for all of the leagues that you enter - unless you make us aware of any differences that you require there to be

League Sign-Ups will close on the 5th February. This is to enable enough time for schedules to be drawn up. Team Lists can be changed right up until the start of the respective league.

The FCL will start on the 9th February.
The FBL will start on the 16th February.
The Super League start date will be pushed to either the 12th or 19th of February (date to be confirmed depending on entrants).

There hasn't been too much difference between the number of negative comments and the number of positive comments, with a few seemingly on the fence. It's true that any comments don't represent the clan league as a whole so it's hard to gauge the reaction.

The more frames played the less chance of luck deciding things which is why 8 frames is better than 6 in the other game types and 2 isn't enough in straight.

This is getting very repetitive now. There have been positive and negative - that is good, the negative allows possible problem areas to be adjusted but the majority of the criticism hasn't been constructive towards the current system (it's not trying to improve it, it's making a new system).

The old format was broken (problematic if you'd prefer), it was changed in the middle of the season following a lot of other changes once the season had commenced which shows that something needed addressing and the changes made were with regards to recovering what could be recovered from the season and not for the long term focus of the FBL

The overwhelming majority are happy to participate, this shows contentment with the current system. If 2 or 3 clans had entered then it would need addressing, it clearly doesn't now. It is your opinion that only a few were needed, a lot more collective experience decided this wasn't the case and a fresher format was needed.

Straight - has been addressed, the reduction of frames and now a more equal weighting to the overall match

Killer - In two leagues it was too much for clans like your own, so it was only ever going to be in one league this season. Since SL ran it the whole season and FBL dropped it that would be logical enough to keep it going. Also add in that it fits better (just my opinion), and the majority of people would agree then it's just silly to swap it round.

Scoring - alternative scoring has been hinted at in the past on forums and in games and runner discussions, and a constant changing of the current scoring (bonuses) as well as a desire to make the leagues more unique (and it actually goes back to the original FBL). Taking into consideration all that then it is a very simple and logical step to take.

The other alternative is 4 frames, which people called for to be reduced this season.

For something to be changed in anything there normally has to be an over whelming call for it and with the scoring there just never has been, with the popularity of the leagues and the lack of people on the clan pages or league discussion ever suggesting this or having a problem with frames scoring coupled with the numerous problems with the new system that have never been answered why bring it in?

I thought 4 frames was too much when it was introduced but it has led to good battles.
3 frames is fine too, 2 leaves too much to luck

Zante with all due respect mate, are you a League Runner? Just everything any one says you shoot it down. I'm all for people having their opinions but at least give them chance to express them, plus allow those who are in an actual position to answer them.

It's a discussion thread though mate, he has every right to agree and oppose your comments.

Well there has since the league runners decided it, much like politicians in parliament decide things and not the general population.

Change has occurred many times in the league in this way, most has been successful because it has been done for the right reasons. League runners make the decisions, they take into consideration the opinions of everyone who wishes to express their view but they make the final decision. Where this is one individual making the decisions is when the least favourable changes occur - with a group making the decisions they have a much better success rate.

3 is fine, but it leaves no option for a draw - which is why 2 was opted for presumably since there was opposition to 4 and it would make straight much longer than other formats since they've reduced but straight hasn't. (the increases made were never called for by the way, they were just implemented really)

the league has a format, if you like it you join if you don't like it you don't
its not normally, up for discussion, its a competition if you want to make changes etc make your own league

I know that mate, there's a difference between discussing and completely annihilating someone's opinion. I have a lot of respect for him, makes good points and supports with facts etc but at least let some topics be discussed by a few before ripping them apart is all I ask. At the moment appears like a 3 way confrontation than a discussion.

Exactly, I can post my opinion and runners can either add their own points or simply agree. If I can discuss something I will, discussion leads the way for a good league. If something is one sided then faults can be missed. If something isn't explained then it might not be justified or understood

But it shouldn't matter who opposes it if the point is a valid one should it?
