Id like 1 league without reading much, where teams play each other twice..once in the FCL format and the other in the FBL format.

Scrap all other leagues and this is viable seen as Chris is now quitting the SL..It will give smaller teams a chance to play catch up if they lose the FCL part by a considerable amount and the FBL part will give chances to them the so called weaker teams and those bigger teams who might lose the FCL to teams as big as them

This might be a ramble..but the league does need to be looked at and shortened..i looked at my thread i have 4-5 games..what a mess..it needs fixing and fixing fast before we all emplode..Not every team is capable of playing all theses fixtures.2 leagues 3 cups..etc.

Now the league runners have too much on their plates to carry on we need reliable and informative people to take over.

Nothing wrong with 2 games a fortnight
with cup games individuals and league
You could be playing upwards of 8 games plus killer at the moment

It needs revamping we all know it, so suggest away

Let's have a poll then, because most clan players I know would prefer to have more than one game a week!

Means working for the leagues it not just a title

as stated...someone reliable and informative on the leagues would be a massive help.

if people dont like the new runners IF there will be some..please do not play in the said leagues..so ur opinion will not matter if it is only to moan.

but a vote is what might be needed and a write up on what the choices are would be great too..

The day to day stuff is the easy part, with the amount of people updating it doesn't take long. Its the stuff behind the scenes that is whee the demand on time is. No runner has quit because of the workload (this is coming from someone who actually has access to the reasons and isn't speculating). Clans had the option to only join certain leagues so if anyone is waking up to the smell of coffee it is captains who bit off more they can chew.

Changing the format means much more work for runners, if it is kept the same the work needed in the background is significantly reduced (and that is where the hard work is put in). Next season will see new league runners involved, but they will be ready to take on the challenge most certainly.

I wouldn't say there are too many games for us to handle as league runners, 3 leagues, 1 cup and an individual competition is fine as long as the organisation is there and we have it all under control. Any deviation would be purely down to personal matters coming before league duties which can happen to anyone at anytime.

Up to 7 games yes (2 x FCL, 2 x FBL, 1 x SL, 1 x Players champ, 1 x cup) + 1/2 frames of killer, but most clans use rotation and only 5 players at most could get 7 games and leave the rest with very few. It averages about 4 games every 2 weeks and would decrease when players/clans drop out of cup competitions.

I would vote for FCL and SL to remain and scrap the FBL which is incorporated mainly in the Grand Slam Cups anyhow. (in fact actually get more frames).

Scrap: Unlimited subs to 2 per fixture set, 1 swap per team, In the event of a draw their be a Captain/Vices match to determine overall winner.

Reduce points for any default occurred,
Reduce team sizes to between 12-15 that covers 8 individual matches for FCL and leaves enough surplus for subs. Teams can have the option to have between that number, it's their team.

Also result could be entered on to a Results forum and only submitted when complete. That way all leagues are not faffed about with and inconclusive.

Maybe even have a Playoff situation where not only 1st and 2nd get a trophy on their threads but 3rd place does too. (Playoff between 3rd - 7th)

Cup Format (different and based totally on TEAM work)

it would be teams are selected and they can only submit 4 players, but cannot play the same 4 in the next round should they progress, so its all about trust and team work


just some ideas...let the slating begin!

In FCL we play 2 sets of 8 matches a fortnight which is no problem but the problem is we don't use the whole squad enough , if there is a set rule that 1 match per one player then this would mean u use the full 16 players in that fortnight so other leagues like FBL , cup , SL is easier to get played .

Some players log in and find themselves with 5 matches and other players only have. 2 etc. Clans are a team effort and some clans don't use there full squad.

This new rule would help all leagues to be played easier and quicker .

I aslo feel we should scrap killer in clans .

I recommend keep FCL , FBL , and have a FCL cup and FBL cup and scrap super league . This would mean a lower team could have a chance of winning something or at best get in a final .

The superleague and killer is not needed I feel .

How long does it take

Having a good admin team is the key
Doing fixtures copying and pasting isn't hard
Defaults dosnt take long
Tables dont take to long its if an auto updater is used
and it is available if its not already being used
Golden cue for 3 leagues nightmare

How you can say it would be harder to run one league oppose to three is farcical

1 set of fixtures
1 set of tables
1 golden cue

1 league to suit all
now is the time to discuss it
Reduce clan sizes increase teams
More competitive teams
A and B teams if needed

How can that be dismissed,
there is to many games
And whether or not captains put teams in or not isn't right

Super league is showing what interchangeable players do
It's captains not understanding rules which is making it a comedy show

Not really how it happened as myself & Matty took over the FCL and had a lot of input in taking over the FBL.

As Zante said, nobody is quitting entirely because of the workload. I wouldn't really call it quitting, more fulfilling our tenure - Why we are trying to make sure that there are reliable people ready to step in when the time comes.

I think a cut to one league could be a bit drastic, although a reduction to two is definitely a good idea in my opinion.

Fair enough then m8, although I remember when the fcl was left to you and Matty Chris starting running it as well without been asked, and at one point it was looking like it was going to turn into a mods league, so I was just interested to know why he all of a sudden doesn't want to know anymore.

It wasn't all of a sudden, was a discussion between the three of us before the start of the season but was never "formally" announced.

Back to the topic in hand;

My intentions were to try and get some sort of league panel going with a set number of representatives from each clan later on in the season so all clans could have (in theory ) equal input instead of the usual group who contribute to the discussion threads.

I'd be happy to conduct a vote this way - I don't believe an open vote would work as opinion is skewed dependant on who frequents the discussion. The above way wouldn't be perfect but would be far fairer for an overall perpesctive

If its the reduction in games clans are worried about you could always have 1 mixed format league of say 12 teams that play each other twice, I'd rather it was 2 fixtures per fortnight but 3 or 4 in one league would still be better than the current 6 between 3 leagues clans have to play at the moment., could have 2 FCL style and 2 FBL, all 1 point per frame and all added to the same league table.
I like the idea of 2 divisions where the so called smaller teams have something to play for instead of just making up the numbers and getting killed every season.

Wasn't two divisions tried in the FBL a couple of seasons back and it was hated?

I wasn't really active at the time so am not really sure what the opinion was, but I gathered that the general consensus was quite bad?

When there were 1 league people wanted 2, when there were 2 people wanted 1. This is where Player Choice ruins it, basically we need some Runners who just say it how it is, don't bend rules dependant on teams involved, can perform basic admin duties such as copy and paste etc.

The current crop of League Runners have done a pretty good job IMO and thanks to them, always seems the case once got feet under the table the sitting chair doesn't maintain its comfort, so now have to pretty much start from scratch again.

We need Runners who are here for few seasons, who accept and will carry out the responsibilities and not just seek the title.

One league, two formats is good, the so called lesser teams still wont stand a chance regardless what anyone says as the moment they acquire a pretty good player another team comes along and nabbs them. (done it myself, hands up).

these leagues arent working because fixtures are coming out sonn after the other ones ive got no problem with any of the leagues and dont know why u want to scrap the differnet leagues they give more variety i like the fbl as its got str8 in and wouldnt want it scrapped im happy with the way it is
