'But it's not real life, it's funky!' - Fair enough, can we have an L - shaped table then, or a circle or something different?

It's just a shame because you can see that work has gone into making the american tables realistic - The 8UK table is just completely outdated now. Would be perfect if the 8US table could be taken, balls changed to red and yellows and all the pocket cuts be changed to curves instead of straight lines.

Also, in my experience proper (supreme, I should say) 8UK tables are not (that) less forgiving than 8US tables. What happens is loads of pubs/clubs have tables with old cushions, the jaws lose their bounce and they become really hard, so any balls just rebound straight off the jaws so the majority of shots that touch the jaw fail to drop. If anyone has had a clean set of balls on a clean decent table they will hopefully know what I mean!

And the rules aren't even old rules lol, i.e. balls hitting rails off the break or a free ball on an open table isn't classed as a free ball, it's just a random amalgamation of different sets of rules but I guess they are all slightly wrong so I can live with that

Why are people complaining about the rules? The rules are the rules! If you pot off the break, the table is closed immediately, and if you foul, the opponent carries! That's the rules! Why try to change them if they're correct?

I'm sticking with separate tables - 8UK Arcade and 8UK normal.

Now, all I can hope for is for Nick to come up with a solution soon...
