Although Seven balling isn't an event I do feel that should also be offered instead of gbs.
even better

Golden breaks are pure luck, so I don't see why people should be rewarded for it. It's harsh enough losing a point to a golden break lol!

For people who achieve golden breaks frequently they are not pure luck. They have an ability to carry out the shot required which others can't do to the same consistancy as them. Which means skill is involved

So a 9 ball golden break is a fluke, yet if a player uses the golden break, pots a ball and the 9 has sat perfectly in the jaws with one ball in front of it to knock it in that is skill and not luck?

Of course It's luck obviously no skill, but flukeball is mainly luck anyway.
Just my opinion that a golden break is a fluke shot and an undeserved win, who gets golden breaks regular in all game types.

Seems to me that even with the people who know the right shot, and get golden breaks relatively often, they still only succeed a small percentage of the time. So yeah I'd call a golden break a fluke.

So should a player that flukes a ball on the way to a run out get the bonus point ?

Agreed. But so too, to a large extent, are Run Outs. Leaving aside 9 Ball, in UK8 players players have various breaks that supposedly give them a better chance of achieving a Run Out. Even with those breaks the Run Out only happens some times, not every time, and will largely be down to luck how the balls have split, or luck somewhere else during the run.
A clan competition ideally is an inclusive experience for all players. Anyone of any standard can get a Golden Break or a Run Out and achieve something positive for their team. But realistically not everyone is going to be able to be competetive overall in a longer format match.

lol, then they were lucky of course, but at least one lucky shot didnt end it, they had to demonstrate skill as well, by completing the runout

In response to Chris
I can see the logic in that, raise the luck factor, level the playing field.
I just prefer the format that most accurately appoints the winner.
edit:about anyone being able to get the breaks and runouts, that's true, but I think most would agree, the better players get runouts a lot more often, when that's not always the case with golden breaks

Wouldn't it be worth having a vote. It would be interesting to see how many people are in favour of it.

Of course not!, we won the most frames did we not? (in my opinion that's justice)

Yes if you count the 2 x 15-0 defaults as winning most frames.
Not discussing the rights or wrong of that though. Yes the best team should win and be rewarded - there are many ways how you can get there along the way though.
