League and Cup fixtures are 8 v 8 unless its the killer decider in the cup where that will be a maximum 7 v 7, (to be decided by teams involved)
1.3 Team lists for each fixture
Captains must select 8 players from their clan to play each league fixture

I can't see where it says how many players play in each match (e.g. 5 vs 5, 8 vs 8, etc) Am i being a spoon and not looking in an obvious place or is it missing?
Looks a decent format, 12 frames. Each game scores 18 points and additional runout/gb bonuses? Then a similar competition format to Super League.

looks great scoring might take a while to learn but i like it.

Looks interesting.
I think the extra bonuses (which make a theoretical score of 24-0 possible in a single game) may separate the top teams from the lower teams even further.
Somebody ordinarily winning 10-2 would probably win 16-2 instead with the game type bonuses.
But we'll see how it plays out...

As I've said to Alan as good as this seems the run out / gb section will highlight further the difference in class as people gettin two attempts at a run out or a gb now have a much higher chance especially the ones that have a run out / gb break, but as you say see how it plays out.

Not particularly it just means the weaker players can lose by more than 15-0, as demoralising as that already is, but hey as I said before it could all be gravy :-)
15:28 Fri 11 Jan 13 (GMT) [Link]
You only get 6 breaks, its only 2 breaks in each game type, whats the chances someone will get 6 achievements, and its only 1 point for each, just remember the socalled weaker players could get 3 flukes in 9ball and gain the 2 win bonus points for that type, this format means you can be way behind but still have plenty to play for and possibly still win.

Gaps between teams was considered but remember also that all gaps are all relative - ie you could award 10 points per rack won and a 15-0 win becomes 150-0
Against that it does have the potential to balance out freak large wins, or large wins by one outstanding player.
For example...
In the FCL format, as it is under the current regime, one 15-0 win followed by 7 defeats of 7-8, 7-8, 7-8, 7-8, 6-9, 6-9 & 6-9 would still be enough to give that team the overall win 61-59 plus the additional 10 win bonus points. One player has arguably distorted the overall outcome.
71 points earned from only one player out of eight actually winning a game.
Here now, one 12-0 win followed by seven defeats of 5-7 still means an overall defeat of 67-77.
Players will only ever need to post the frame scores. All other checks on bonus points to be awarded will be made by the League staff.
Its not easy to have now come up with three distinct league formats and still be even slightly original and interesting. Ultimately the long term choices for clans and their players may come down to preferred formats and preferred runners.

16:28 Fri 11 Jan 13 (GMT) [Link] Yeah, that works in theory, but usually it just means that the better players get massive wins. A 10-2 will often turn into 16-2 etc.
Isn't that the point? You want your big players to score big wins and want to limit the damage from your opponent's big players. That's not distorting the fixture, that's winning it.
But like I said, we'll see the effects of it once it gets played!

Well I guess its the same old discussion point.
Which team deserves to win a clan match more - a team winning one of eight individual matches or a team winning seven of eight individual matches?
Even more so if the 15-0 was a default score. Not that there would be a 15-0 under our rules.

Yes, if it was a default score then it would be different.
But why consider individual results in a team competition? The team that wins more frames should win the fixture.
I'm sure the format will be different to the others and look forward to playing in it. Just making some predictions

Yep - thats exactly the discussion lol
My own view is a team that beats more of its opponents should have the better chance of being successful overall than one that doesnt.
A Ryder Cup type approach if you like. One player beating an opponent 10&8 (10 holes up with 8 to play) cannot outweigh several players that might lose by 2&1.

Although Seven balling isn't an event I do feel that should also be offered instead of gbs.
