I have always said this on Snooker even messaged an admin about it a while ago as i know of an admin on snooks who comes on for months at a time.
a few active moderators on both sites would make good admins in my view but i have had a thought of something. when they was a Moderator they was really active with the community since they became Admins except for clooneman and fastboysam (and revenge before PC problems) i rarely see any of the other admins. i know they have a life outside this site but popping up twice a week has to be better than once a month or two.
just my view on things
He makes a very good point about admin, with fastboysam and clooneman seemingly the only active admin
Perhaps the active mods becoming admin could be beneficial (if they were willing to do it)

Quick points from the quick Fox.
1. Get rid of Micro's
2. Get rid of "ranked" tournaments.
3. Make "ranked" games actually win you rank.
4. Put noobs back up to 100 games per format.
5. Get rid of Tournapoints
Kev and I used to love getting to pro noob within 70 games in each format. Then when you entered a tournament it would only damage your win % and not your entire rank. About 2 years ago, for me, everything was perfect. I could sit on a ranked table and within a day I was pro. Nowadays it takes me anything up to a week of hardcore play. Tournapoints are tournapointless in my eyes, the best players don't win them, just the ones that have no life (no offence intended). Anyone that can sit on a computer for 15-24 hours a day can win the day event.
Please put everything back the way it was. I'm open to suggestions

Yeah forgot to elaborate mate. Replace ranked tourneys with non-ranked ones but on the hour would be better

i agree mostly with everything but on the admin point only 2 of them have been on this week with 1 being offline for 3 months so maybe there could be a change there?

Yeah actually joining the side for friendly tourneys now, the ranking system might get back to something like it was then.

Precisely, I used to love playing ranked games back when you actually got points for winning lol. If we were to make anyone admin I'd recommend ab_rfc, horse10000, and chris.

If clans were not around then this site would be near enough ready for the scrapheap as at least 50% of the members logging in are in clans. I agree with all the points made above, especially newbies being able to enter tourneys has made tournaments totally worthless.

Agreed with tournies, maybe if you win it, perhaps you get 10 rank points maybe? I dunno thinking aloud here

To be fair, if you were admin...there would be no one left on this site
I'd be great as an administrator lol

i wouldnt come on anymore, if i hadnt been persuaded to join a clan, i used to look forward to the uk mara tourneys at night and some other tourneys, but there pointless now, the whole ranking system is flawed, ansd a lot of the sites characters have left

You still wouldn't win a tournament or anything even if you were the only one to enter.
Just how I like it lol

Think I said it somewhere a couple of weeks ago...
The idea of tournapoints is great, the medals and what not are great also, however having the tournaments ranked takes away a lot of the prestige of the tournapoints.
Or maybe it isn't even the rank, maybe it's the fact you can win a day event without entering a main tournament, 4 micro tournaments per hour, 24 hours that leaves 96 micro tournaments a day. as well as the 24 main tournaments that is 120 tournaments a day. Then take into account the tournaments every half hour which is another 24 (say of which maybe half are friendly soooo...) around about 130 tournaments a day where you can win tournapoints and rank...
That is ridiculous. Micro tournaments, in my opinion should be used for guests and newbies to help get them more involved in the sites, as we saw above logging in as a guest is like a ghost world, imagine how much they could get involved by playing a micro... these though should be strictly friendly and no tournapoints to be won.
Scrap the half hour tournaments, and have 1 every hour, maybe this will make tournaments more enjoyable, with less chances to win and more competition, that way the tournapoints and rank MAY work well together.

Yes!! that sounds right, wasn't sure what needed changing but that sounds great!
That and less tournaments would make it zing

Another interesting discussion with some good points.
I now think returning to one tournament per hour might be a step in the right direction. However that does introduce a whole number of issues in itself. To incorporate all the game types and variations of each game type you would probably need a 48 hour schedule. That is fine but would members be happy if there were Arcade tournaments for example filling these hourly spots alongside all the main game types?
I still cannot see any issue with ranked tournaments. For anyone that is interested in trying to find where they stand against all other players on the site at any given time then ranked tournaments are a must (the ranking tables nowadays are proof of how well it works). For anyone not interested in that then whether there are ranking points to be won/lost in tournaments is meaningless anyway as they can just play for fun.
I also cannot see any issue with Tournapoints rewarding players who are the most active. Two reasons for that are
1) If I was running this site as a business I would want to encourage people to be on here as much as possible and
2) It is no different to the likes of Golf or Tennis pro tours where the more tournaments in the schedule you play the better chance you have of being top of the Money List.
If tournament entries did increase though by returning to one tournament per hour then a player winning one big tournament, say an 80 player Marathon tournament, might even be in with a shout of winning a Day Medal just simply from winning that one big tournament. That slightly reduces the advantage of players who are online more and rewards players who might win tough 'Major' tournaments.
Finally regarding normal ranked games. I think the current system should stay where you can choose your opponents at the reduced weighting but I would love to see an automatic pairing up option where you do not get to choose your opponents. The weighting for those ranked games could be the same as for tournaments as the playing conditions for both would be almost identical. You then also have a ranking system that caters equally for players that either can, or want to, commit time to playing tournaments and those that cannot or do not want to.
Apologies for the long post!!
