I think some of Snooker Squads default were because of the other teams player not wanting to finish but getting closer to the end of the season their defaults did rise for several reasons, think the main one was because of player activity within the clan, something the captain nor the vice really had any control over.
They can be really active and for what ever reason they become in active due to personal problems or along those lines. If your a captain you just have to trust that they will be active but you can't really blame a player who gets a default or two because they have issues in real life.

Don't really see why the big default debate has started now?
The pre-season qualifiers all look like getting completed with minimum of fuss(except those with UD) so we should have good, reliable teams in there with experienced captains.
Snooker Squad were missing 2 or 3 reliable players that would guarantee playing 2 games each for them if needed last season. Seb's got them in now can't see them having any worries.
As long as defaults get judged properly (no effort being 0-0 not 7-7) and clans know they will be judged like that I think we should have a great season.

I think 16 is a perfectly adequete amount of players for a clan. Personally this means that I can give every player a game in an FCL game, then I got 8 subs for each fixture. Do not believe in playing same 8 people all the time, not all about winning for me, I want my clan members to enjoy being in a clan and everyone get involved. If you do not like the idea of 16, why fill your teamsheet?

UDs should not be allowed to sub in their ineligible players, I could argue that my pre seasons would have been done sooner had I been allowed to sub in q_tip. We ensured we had enough people on the teamsheet to cover games and subs when we applied for league entry, something all clans should have done.

i think james had the best one they half season open up the transfer window again for a week and let players go that not happy

Defaults - people are already talking about clan size of 16 not working out, we havent even had a season of it yet, give it time

Think jem is spot on with all 5 there and I don't like the idea of a transfer window.
Say i'm secretly signing dgen(he wishes ) and we're playing snooker squad in the fixture before the transfer window...could lead to thrown games.
Everybody would still get approached exactly the same as now you would have a frantic scramble to replace players rather than replacing them as they go.
Also why keep an unhappy player?

but yeah that can be a problem but everyone should play to best of there ability no matter who they play, if anyone is caught trying to cheat or throw frames they should be suspended or even banned from the league.

Reduce the clans allowed to 10 clans and a maximum of 16 players each. This means players who quit to start new clans would not get there clans in the league and players may think twice about leaving existing clan, which would hopefully cause greater stability to clans in the league and there should always be players available to replace inactive / banned and deactivated players which again should prevent clans folding.
Do away with preseason all clans who complete the season would automatically continue the following season. Only exceptions would be if league runners thought a clan had too much defaults and were being run badly they may have to request improvements for that clan or they would risk being asked to leave.
By sticking with a limited number of 10 clans we would hopefully stop this 4 or 5 new clans forming every season and have balanced leagues after a few seasons.
If a clan has 16 players and still has defaults, if anyone can explain how reducing to 14 players is going to reduce defaults please advise? Vikings completed all fixtures with 8 or 9 ACTIVE players one season, the key word is active. my opinion on this werent directly aimed at the decision of clans bein 16players. was just statin that 15 players was the same as 12 and i cant see 16 players bein any different, but thats my opinion.
I hope it does work, i honestly do, the last thing i wonna see is the league av more arguments and friction within.

Yes but we keep trying to have 11 and 12 teams which has even less chance of working at least be reducing and fixing the number clans are aware that if they are one of the 10 chosen clans if they keep a team together they won't have to worry about preseason friendlies as they are in for the long haul.

i think its unfair on the guys that are say placed 15th and 16th within the team, would they ever get a game?

That is up to the captain we had 15 players last season and kept them all happy as far as i am aware. Well they didn't complain to me if they weren't happy
Down to squad rotation and making players who are not picked in original 8 feel part of it be keeping in touch and letting them know that if you see player x on can you sub yourself in and play them please. We had often 5 or 6 players hunting down one opponent to get games completed.
Some clans do not want this as they want player x to play regardless of the 5 subs they have available.
We always gave players week one to get games completed and in week 2 started looking to sub if needed to get games completed as long as players are aware it seems to work.
Shouldn't be divulging our secrets, i should have just left ab to sell some more of his idiot guides to running a clan

through Funky promotions ie facebook, does tht mean 10 is always going to be fixed in stone ?????
i think we are loosing site of the game itself, ppl talk about restrictions on ppl playing this is a farcical idea if you had 20 clans with 16 players in .. your now saying traaaaa to 10 clans
