ill be a sub

my opinions

1) Five individual games of 12 racks (4 x 8, 9 and UK) - bonus points for Run Outs (bonus points for Golden Breaks as well would be open to discussion). Most prefer a longer game than the previous 6 rack format. sounds good
2) Two Killer games of 2 vs 2 - 6 points for 1st, 4 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd and 1 point for 4th. Means any pair will win the majority of points available if one of them wins the Killer game. like that

Fixtures would be geared towards clan vs clan matches to avoid the problems caused by cumulative scoring across a whole season.

Three points for a fixture win, two for a draw.

One further point to be awarded to a team winning by scoring over 60 points or a further point to be won by a team losing but scoring over 25 points. Gives teams something to play for at all times but at the same time can reduce any impact from defaults to virtually nil or also allow for unplayed games to remain unplayed if a match has already been decided. like this tried to get this implemeneted in fcl and fbl but never happened

i reckon it should be 4 aside

I do think if we are allowing 2 teams per clan they should be the interchangeable option as it would make for some interesting captaining per fixture set.

Team A = 5 players
Team B = 5 players

They cannot swap out of the fixture for that set.

Then 6 free subs you could use as required for either fixture if required.

I do still like the idea of this - even with the potential problems!!

The concern I have is that many clans don't have 16 so would potentially struggle to complete games.

If I thought more clans would enter two teams then cke's idea of 4 individual games instead of 5, plus the two Killer games might work better.

If the majority of clans had two teams then Play-Offs qualifying could be done from two separate groups/conferences with A & B teams being placed in separate ones as angry_bacon wanted.

I could increase the maximum clan sizes above 16 - but the danger is the top clans just take even more good players.

Super League IV - Trial Match

Uprising v Rest of the World

angry_bacon v fuunky
erigert v clarebye
2andygorams v bluenose1872
cgibson92 v horse10000
derik_dalton v scott7a

Those are the starting 5 singles matches. Each match is 4 racks of 8US, 9US and 8UK. Bonus points for any Run Out, GB, 7 Balling or 3 Fouling achieved.

Usual Super League rules apply re subbing and swapping (ie completely unrestricted) therefore any Uprising player can come in for them and lethal_lures and mattywellie are available subs for the ROW team. Just play any opponents or sub in as required.

2 games of Killer (2 vs 2) also required from the players on either side. Killer scoring is 1st - 6 Pts, 2nd - 4 Pts, 3rd - 2 Pts and 4th - 1 Pt. No player can play in both Killer games.

clare v erigert.

ok first of all we both played like players who just picked up pool cues lol every frame nearly had incidents. There was no run-outs or Gbs but I really enjoyed playinga shorter format and when we do play well it will be a pleasure to play in this.

we finished 2-2 in all sets.

horse10000 2 - 2 cgibson92 @ US8
horse10000 2 - 2 cgibson92 @ US9
horse10000 3 - 1 cgibson92 @ UK8 (7 balling for me)

Overall 8 - 5 me i think.

Good games mate

For me 7 ballings should never be an event for an extra point.

I think as it is only 4 frames each set it would be better with no events at all. Or run outs at a push, nothing else for me.

Not played mine yet but i think Run Outs and Goldens are fine (golden breaks are not easily to come by now so dont matter if its there or not). The three foul rule is 50/50 with me as 50% is based on luck and then the other 50% skill (when you dont fluke the snookers to get it).

If you had 2 seperate teams from clans then you could maybe have an extra table for combined scores.

Run out & 7 Ballings for me only should have bonus points attached but not individual ones. When you hit 3 minimum of each then you should achieve a bonus point, or the team should.

1 runout = no bonus points
4 = yes (points towards the team) as they have exceeded 3 run-outs.)

GB's not for me, videos on the net showing you how to do them, that to me is not skill it's copying, 3 foul rule, there's a minority of players on here who are capable of doing this with intent, most others are fortuitous and very lucky.

There is only the one friendly planned just to see if any negatives arise from the 'bonuses for everything' approach as its never been done before.

If all goes to plan would aim for Sunday 22nd - failing that Sunday 29th.

Super League IV

Please can clans wishing to take part this season post here - also indicating how many teams they are entering.

The number of entrants will decide the structure of the competition.

1. Uprising A
2. Uprising B

Regarding the two teams issue, I have thought about it and decided to go with the original plan.

As far as the League is concerned A & B teams are interchangeable however no one player can play in both the A & B teams during the same fixture period. This gives Captains freedom to decide tactics. They can stick with two even teams, favour one team over the other or tactically switch players around to try and get both teams through at the expense of others.

Assuming there are sufficient numbers there will be two groups from which teams will compete to qualify for the play-offs. Where clans have an A & B team entered, one will be drawn in each group.

Hopefully this will work and maybe bring some spice into the competition too. It will then be reviewed at the end of the season.

When the 2 sides from the same team face each other, how will them points work out? Will the 2 sides for one for all, or the scores added together?
