what happens when the two teams of the same clan face each other?

Happened previously in Super League I as two separate teams and was good competitive fun.

yeah but if that happens the fixture between the two teams of the same clan should get on the 1st or 2nd set of fixtures, otherwise it can be abused a lot with it to favour the better team

Surely having two teams isn't going to be hard to get games played? Clans will have 2 full teams to play each fixture plus SIX possible subs. How hard can that be unless a team is full of inactives?

This thought gave me a brainwave . Instead of having interchangable players for a fixture, what about having 2 separate leagues (An 'A' league and a 'B' league)? Permanent league consisting of 8 players in each? Players couldn't swap about so captains should decided for sure which players they would want in each team.

Because the teams will be in separate leagues, they would never play each other (unless it was a cup match or something) and this would also stop match fixing (for example when teams from the same clan play each other, and one is pushing to win the league.. you get my drift).

Even this wouldn't be hard to do in my opinion, 5 players play a game with 3 subs, or even if the matches were 4 players a side, would make 4 subs free.

Has this ever been done before? Sounds like something new to me

Thanks chris I would prefer teams not to be interchangeable as you will get the same games 4 times when pros play UT etc but the 2 teams from a clan bit is good

I think we are edging towards allowing two teams per clan for any that want to - with each team comprising permanently separate squads but with all the usual rules regarding their ability to sign/transfer players up to a max of 16 (as per the original Super League)

Next decisions are the event bonuses.

1) None, 2) Run Outs only, 3) Run Outs and GBs only or 4) Run Outs, GBs, 7 Ballings, 3 Foulings.

and the inclusion, or not, of Killer (2 games of 2 v 2)

Please do not include killer as the FBL will already be doing 2 x 2 v 2 - 4 games is too much.

2 v 2 Killer was a Super League idea

Joking - Makes no difference to me either way - I will just run a format that's different but now based on what people want.

I am trying to base FBL on what people want... just a shame everyone wants different things lol

In a way it actually fits better into a match scoring format rather than a cumulative scoring format.

If a Super League fixture was already decided then there is no requirement to necessarily play any remaining games and default scores are fairly meaningless too whereas Killer defaults can be difficult to do fairly otherwise and carry forward through the whole season.

Similarly if a Killer game was to decide the outcome of a match then it would spice it up nicely.

about time this returned!

No Killer (although its fun too much can be a bad thing)
No Two Teams (Agree with Seb)
Keep Bonuses for Golden Breaks and Runouts, 7 ballings i disagree unless its not from a carry, 3 foul rule is debatable but i don't mind either way

Hoping to trial a game with bonuses for all four

As I said before, I actually think Killer suits Super League as it is all about beating your direct opponents the same as Super League games as a whole are.

If any clans do wish to enter 2 teams then they can. Although not sure whether they will as it does weaken your clan's competitiveness potentially and there will probably be something like a minimum of 42 individual clan games to play every two weeks as it is.

Can you explain what this means? Aren't the other 2 leagues based upon the same values = beat your opponent

Or am I missing something?

Killer can suit any of the 3 leagues as they are all competitive, it was introduced into the FBL first and people called for it to be in the league so was included.

No - they are based on accumulating as many points as possible throughout the whole season - although beating your direct opponents is desirable it is not absolutely essential. Winning one game by a big margin and losing another by a narrow margin can be better than winning both games.

In the Super League the only aim is to beat your direct opponents however you can and then move on to the next one. Each game in isolation with Captains able to pick a team they see as capable of beating an opponent without having to always pick the team with the best chance of gaining the most points.

To stop match fixing all you need to do is put teams from the same clan against each other in the first fixture. Both teams will want to get off to a good start so should play it fairly

my suggestions:
keep killer
let two teams from a clan enter the league
give bonus points only for runouts (or if you give bonus for 7 ballings or 3 fouls the reward for bonus points for them should be lower, as i think its harder to make a run out than a 7 balling)

Thanks for the input

I am hoping that Uprising players might take part in a proper trial game using all the bonuses and with each team going all out for a win in the fixture. See whether any of it impacts negatively at all on how people approach games. I have messaged Stu (faust) and just waiting on a reply.

Arranging two related teams to play against each other early on can be easily done and makes sense.

What are the benefits of clans putting out two teams. Is it just to get more teams involved?

I think some view it as a chance to give more games to more players. With 5 a side less players will get these types of games to play.

I have always thought that 8 players in matches - and certainly 16 in a clan - is far too many in terms of trying to make clans a more competitive and fun event. Smaller and more competitive clans with the limited numbers of players that are available to be drawn from ought to be the way forward. I think you have had the same discussions on Snooker too? But I have no hope of changing that - so therefore personally its not something I am trying to achieve particularly.
