Super League IV would kick off in about two weeks subject to teams wanting it. Obviously there are several alternatives on the table now so not all can clearly work with the available playing pool.

Format would be based on the various comments made by members at various times - key components being

1) Five individual games of 12 racks (4 x 8, 9 and UK) - bonus points for Run Outs (bonus points for Golden Breaks as well would be open to discussion). Most prefer a longer game than the previous 6 rack format.
2) Two Killer games of 2 vs 2 - 6 points for 1st, 4 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd and 1 point for 4th. Means any pair will win the majority of points available if one of them wins the Killer game.

Means clans can operate with a minimum of 5 active players.

Fixtures would be geared towards clan vs clan matches to avoid the problems caused by cumulative scoring across a whole season.

Three points for a fixture win, two for a draw.

One further point to be awarded to a team winning by scoring over 60 points or a further point to be won by a team losing but scoring over 25 points. Gives teams something to play for at all times but at the same time can reduce any impact from defaults to virtually nil or also allow for unplayed games to remain unplayed if a match has already been decided.

Five a side allows the potential for clans to enter two teams if they wish. Players between the two clans could be interchangeable although you couldn't play for both teams in the same fixture period. Would allow captains to manage their teams towards obtaining results and also 'damaging' opponents.

Thats the idea anyway - but open to any tweaking as long as it remained individual from what already exists elsewhere.

However if players want to stick with what they already have elsewhere then no problems as I have nothing to gain personally from running this!!

Just to set right the giant misunderstanding about some 'weird' bonus system.

Each fixture (clan vs clan) has 4 points available. 2 points each for a draw. For the winners there are 3 points - the 4th point either goes to the winners or the losers depending on the margin of victory.

ie a win of 61-25 would give 4 to the winners (3+1) and 0 to the losers whilst a margin of less than that would give 3 to the winners and 1 (0+1) to the losers.

Frames/racks won and lost plus the event bonuses are only used to decide the winners of each individual fixture and for separating teams level on points just like 'goal difference'.

Well i hope ha, defo should give this another season m8 i tried reading this through but got halfway n thought naa lol, too confusing for me i just like how theres a decent amount of frames, bonus points for playing well, i would scrap golden break bonus points tho as this is a little unfair tbh it doesn't take much skill to do this and im sure not everyone wants to spend hours perfecting their break off shot just for an outside shout at a runout!

You could replace golden break bonus with a 7 balling bonus but then tbh its all about your opponent at times, if he can't pot you could potentially 7 ball him every frame, so saying that i would probably not go for it, its up to you.

Lets hope this League ges back into action, im all ready looking forward to it!

P.S if u do go ahead with this it would be nice if u added a bonus table for individual performances on the website m8 like you was going to do before

Can always rely on the Snooker Squad - seeing as they always win every Super League competition.

Despite the exceptionally questionable timing of this, I personally am over the moon to see a viable 3rd clan competition come into being. It's exactly what I wanted, as I spoke to jooodles about yesterday when I spoke about cgibson92's proposed league. I'm glad she passed on our concerns! :)

Yeah i liked the TCL when it came out, glad its back in some form(havent actually played the super league myself but it seems good too). Also is the individual players championship coming back with this?

And just my opinion, but i'm not a fan of bonus points for GB's. I think it's a good enough bonus just winning the frame with a GB because i know in real i didnt win when i got my one and only GB

I am happy to not have bonuses for GB's if that's what most want.

Yes, that sounded like a good idea- bonus for 3 fouls instead of the GB.
However, those disappear from the profile after 3 days, so chris would have to check every game immediately.... so I'm not sure it's doable.

That's my concern - same as it always was for 7 ballings too - in the event of any dispute that wasn't dealt with during the 5 days the results were on people's profiles.

That said I am sure it can be worked around if its what people want.

Must admit I'm not keen on bonus for 3 fouls, encourages negative play and why should someone get a bonus because their opponent can't get out of snookers or pots the cue ball.

Surely attacking players get rewarded enough with all the other bonuses? As in real life, why shouldn't defensive play be rewarded? It's not been done before, and it would at least add a different aspect to clan 9ball!

Arguably winning a 9 Ball game in 3 shots (fouls) is more attacking than winning it in 9 shots with a 1-9 run out!!

My view on bonuses is that its either Run Outs only - or everything (Run Outs/GB's/7 Ballings/3 Fouls etc).

There can be an individual 'Bonus Point' league either all encompassed together or split into the different achievement types.

Unbelievable , i seriously can't believe some of the posts i have read, as i said to faust last night chris intends on bringing his league back but anyone is free to do their own league, so i'm not sure why there are all the snide comments about it being rather funny he has returned and that it's all to do with the new league someone else was setting up, he is still able to do that

I for one am glad chris is back running his league, he has proved without a shadow of a doubt he can run a league without being biased, getting involved in clan arguments and all the other rubbish that goes on within the clan leagues and that's not even mentioning the lack of confidence members have with certain runners ~ unbelievable

Nothing against defensive play, I just don't see why players should get bonus points if their opponent fouls, if a player pots the cue ball 3 shots in a row, pots the wrong ball or fails to get out of a snooker they put themselves in do I deserve to get a bonus point ?

he ran off last season and just didn't bother trying to sort everything out. people didn't like the format so he just ran off for a month, that's why there has been the comments there has and no i can't run a league, the idea of 4 league is just ridiculous. having said that im just glad there is going to be a 3rd league as i enjoyed tcl when it was running.

Woah, woah, woah! When we spoke yesterday, you indicated there was a degree of uncertainty regarding Chris coming back and running a league for the upcoming season, and I also told you my preferred option WAS for Chris to return!

As for the rest of your post, I agree that Chris is 100% a great runner!

To me it's more valid then getting a lucky break with the 9ball hanging over a pocket, and getting an easy combo!
