I agree with mikey on this one , However the killer is fun but seems to be a bit of a nightmare to get the players active enough to play the games , the majority have had to sub in and sub out just to get the game played at the time of all 4 players being online

^That's the point though. I simply copy/pasted the non-killer teams into killer games, because we play whenever we have 2 people online. It's been really easy to get these killer games done, because any 2 vs any 2 is not difficult to achieve.

Pretty much agree with Seb for the most part.

This said... I preferred original SL, and was bitter when it was changed - and I needlessly (in hindsight) slagged TCL off at the beginning. SL and TCL gave me an opportunity to give all my players a similar amount of games, but this season the SL hasn't felt like being included in quite as credible a fixture.

Any format given time becomes the norm, and I'm sure we could all adapt to this eventually. Personally - I find the current format too convoluted and difficult to implement, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

Thanks for the positive comments. I do find it worrying that after seeing the format in operation some still see it as complicated. I think w_hoolahan is the youngest clan member and his posts show that he got it straight away with no questions!!

There doesn't appear to be enough support to warrant Jo and myself putting the time in to keep it going so for the time being we will suspend operations and take a few weeks out to allow for new ideas.

If anyone has any other ideas on formats they want to see that are fresh and different then feel free to post here or message me.

regarding format i quite like it, especially the killer which is easy enough to arrange compared if you did 2 3v3 which would be difficult.

i don't like how you can play well and lose 2 types

didn't play TCL so can't comment on that

I liked the original Super league too, especially rewarding attacking players, this might also give the tappers something to go at

I admit I whined a lot about the points system, but I'm with ^, I like the format, especially the killer (still think the killer needs more weight).

I like it without the bonuses for runouts and GB's, to accomplish either, you have to be lucky enough to break. With an odd number of games, it's not fair (and even if you had an even #, u'd have people manipulating the game for more than their share of breaks). Not to mention, attacking play or not, they've been lucky enough (GB more so) without a bonus, already won the frame .

Yep probably. Three Killer matches worth 4 points each might have been a bit better. Or just one game of Killer to score the 2 points instead of two games.

plan B is the same scoreline, I like plan A

how do you do draws chris, do you base it on last season. Is there a site you use or you pair them up?

I liked keith's idea best, think it was 2 for first, and 1 for second. Allows the points system to recognize how decisive a win it was (did the winners have 1, or 2 players left).

Nooo no new ideas, I've had enough of new ideas, can't you just swallow your pride and bring back original SL like a lot of people have posted for, it was such a good format!

Why would it be anything to do with pride??? I actually posted before that having a choice of formats would allow seasons to be rotated rather than having the same boring formats season after season.

For as many players that have posted for, just as many posted in favour of the new team based format or against the previous individual based formats.

Only surprise has been that no one has posted the old rubbish cliche of 'if it aint broke dont fix it!!'

It will remain a secret other than to say it relied on your pairs' results and also your specific contribution to those results. Would again have brought something brand new to clans.

reason i ask is because we have been trying to work on 'clan rankings' over on snooker and rapid_pot has been doing some coding to try and accomplish a funky type ranking system where it depends on the points both teams get. Im not sure where hes at now but last time i heard he hit a few flaws

The Players Championship is a Super League competition so will take place alongside the next Super League season. Its too late for that to start now so will commence probably late September or early October.



Sadly that wasn't true as much as it was quick and easy to run!!

The new Super League format includes everything people have said they like in various thread discussions. No doubt there will still be some aspects not liked by all but all of the aspects will be liked by some. If thats not the case then a few of the posts I have read have not been truthful.

That said, having several formats allows for variety from season to season.
