Super League III
Please can I have teams of five for final Fixture Set 5 as soon as possible in order to be able to release the games on Sunday night. In the absence of teams being provided I will draw five players for each at random.
Fixture schedule (ie opponents) can be found here...
http://funkypoolsuperleague.weebly.com/regular-season-phase-1.html
Please also note in advance that the Transfer Deadline is at the end of Fixture Set 4 (Midnight UK next Wednesday). From this point on the team lists become locked and no new players may be added. Therefore please ensure any changes you wish to make for the remainder of the Super League III season are posted on the team changes thread before then.
Thanks

Super League III
And here it is...
The final set of fixtures for the Regular Season and there are two massive 'decider' matches.
Snooker Squad vs The Sinners will decide the destination of the League Leaders Shield whilst The Underdogs vs Inpossibles will decide which team qualifies for the Play-Offs.
Anyone still think there's no planning involved? Lets see if this happens in the other leagues now there's only one division in each!!
Fixtures can be found here ...
http://funkypoolsuperleague.weebly.com/released-fixtures.html
All games are usual Super League format of 2 games each of 9 Ball, 8 Ball and UK8 with bonus points for Run Outs and Golden Breaks.
Deadline for these games is Midnight UK on 9/12/12.

Super League III - Arcade Challenge Cup
As three of the four teams only had one new fixture released yesterday I have decided this is a good time for the Semi Finals in this competition.
Snooker Squad v Uprising
The Underdogs v The Sinners
Please can I have teams of five as soon as possible and ideally by 7pm (UK) tomorrow.
Where teams aren't received players will be drawn at random.
Confirming format again, it is...
2 games of 8 Arcade (2 pts per win plus 2 pts per event)
4 games of 9 Arcade (1 pt per win plus 1 pt per event)
There will be at least two weeks again to get games played.

must admit i do like the idea as it makes the ending sweeter. doesn't it make more work for you though? do you do draws each fixture or is it based on last season? so many questions

Arcade Challenge Cup Semi Final games now released.
Fixtures can be cut and pasted from here ...
http://funkypoolsuperleague.weebly.com/arcade-challenge-cup-fixtures.html
Fixture deadline is Midnight UK on 12th December 2012
Reminder of the format ...
The basic game format is 5-a-side. Each game is two racks of 8 Arcade and four racks of 9 Arcade (6 racks in total).
Each 8 Arcade rack won plus each event achieved in 8 Arcade scores 2 points. Each 9 Arcade rack won plus each event achieved in 9 Arcade scores 1 point.
As always an event is a Golden Break or Run Out.
If, after all five games have been played, there is a draw then a tie-breaker takes place.

Super League III
The Regular Season has now been completed and it is congratulations once again to Snooker Squad who take the League Leaders Shield for the third time in a row!!
But thank you to everyone that has played so far as there were only 2 unplayed games all season (leaving aside the last set where a team fell by the wayside) and there has been no trouble at all.
Moving onwards briskly...
Play-Offs Round 1
Qualifying Play-Offs
Snooker Squad vs Uprising
The Sinners vs Team Angry
(Winners to Round 3 and Losers to Round 2)
Elimination Play-Offs
Fighting Eagles vs Ninja Warriors
Mouseketeers vs The Underdogs
(Winners to Round 2 and Losers eliminated)
Please can I have teams of five for these games ASAP so that we can get them underway.
Thanks

Congratulations to The Sinners for winning the Arcade Challenge Cup. It doesn't get better than taking any clan competition to the very last frame!!
Any Clan Cup competition needs a USP and Arcade is pretty much the only one that exists at present. I know it involves a huge amount of luck however maybe it's not entirely down to that over the course of five games as the two best teams did reach the Final.
Anyone got any views on the format? I tried to keep the games really short and also weight the scoring as evenly as possible between the two different game types. But if anyone thinks it can be improved feel free to post. Similarly post if you just want it dropped!!
Thanks

USP?
my opinion is it has been a good competition despite not liking arcade too much i would still play in this cup because its fun, yeah its about luck but what competition isn't.
alternative would be 1 frame of 8Arc, 9Arc, 8US, 9US, 8UK and an odd number like 5 or 7 another possibility where the underdog has a chance.
obviously higher frames and players means the underdog doesn't have much chance

USP = Unique Selling Point
eg for other leagues it was teams from two different divisions competing in the same cup competition.
With bonus points I dont like having odd numbers of frames as that can give players an unfair advantage.

I would've said make it more frames to play because they're really quick, but you probably want to keep the 1:2 ratio of 8 to 9-ball. So it's either 3 frames of 8Arc and 6 frames of 9Arc or 4/8.
3/6 means someone breaks off more often and 4/8 may be a bit much.

id like to say chris
change nothing all the formats work, its quick and easy, and apart from the odd twisty player who if they dont like it shouldnt play in it. thats simple
but overall i didnt like FSL to much, now with the absence of the constant goading and petty arguments in both the other leagues including by myself.
i really like the formatt, there never seems to be any arguments, chris both you and jo have done a fabulous job here and in truth i bet most players like the none arguementative side, and the total lack of egos.
keep up the good work, please maybe look at a killer competion please
