Arcade Challenge Cup Round 1 games now released.

Fixtures can be cut and pasted from here ...

http://funkypoolsuperleague.weebly.com/arcade-challenge-cup-fixtures.html

Fixture deadline is Midnight UK on 21st October 2012

Reminder of the format ...

The basic game format is 5-a-side. Each game is two racks of 8 Arcade and four racks of 9 Arcade (6 racks in total).

Each 8 Arcade rack won plus each event achieved in 8 Arcade scores 2 points. Each 9 Arcade rack won plus each event achieved in 9 Arcade scores 1 point.

As always an event is a Golden Break or Run Out.

If, after all five games have been played, there is a draw then a tie-breaker takes place.

Subs are unlimited but please post in Super league Substitutions thread.

Please post results in Super League Results thread.

Good luck to all.

No pre-qualifying mate - Regular Season starts this Sunday.

And therefore...

Please can I have teams of five for the first two fixtures as soon as possible in order to be able to release the games on Sunday night. In the absence of teams being provided I will draw five players for each at random.

Fixture schedule (ie opponents) can be found here...

http://funkypoolsuperleague.weebly.com/regular-season-phase-1.html

Next item - please can you ensure that all team changes are notified on the appropriate thread or else they wont count.

And finally...

I have had some moaning about the Arcade games. The Arcade games will only be in the Arcade Challenge Cup (clue is in the name!!). If teams really do not want to take part, a post followed up with a confirmation is all that is required so that I can DQ that clan from the competition.

Otherwise I really cant see the problem in treating it as a competition of luck, fun and something different to everything else - and seeing what happens. Or maybe fun is indeed something that really does no longer apply on here?

Super League III first Regular Season games will be out at about 8pm.

Please note that any team changes not posted on the Team Changes thread before that will mean that player will not be eligible to play until Fixture Set 2.

Thanks

I don't see a thread where to put this so here it goes. I want to touch on something ipotalot posted on a thread about how fast these games from the Super League come out and how early they are. It is the one thing that makes me have a dislike to this league, i like the rest of it but that one thing is ugly in my opinion. Most clans play in three leagues and two of those leagues have worked together to come out with a pattern on games being released, it feels like Super League is trying to get as many seasons under its belt and in record time and players and captains are getting confused as there is so many games coming out.

On a nicer note though, in my eyes Super League has now cemented its place ahead of the FBL as the better league now based on facts that more people enjoy the Super League and i have to say i am also warming to the Super League myself.

The Super League seasons have run at the same time as those of the other two leagues in all three seasons now. You know that to be true because I have messaged you each time to confirm dates!!

The way it is formatted it has 5 fixture sets plus four play-off rounds. If games were released every two weeks then the season would last a minimum of 16 weeks. That is compared to the FCL/FBL seasons which usually last a total of 10 weeks with 5 fixture sets.

By starting the SL seasons early, and releasing the Regular Season games every 10 days, it shortens the season aiming to end it at roughly the same time as the FCL/FBL seasons.

It has been proved time and time again that teams start to struggle/break up near the end of the first league season that finishes so to have another league continue after that point is madness and asking for trouble.

* On a secondary matter, the Super League is a flexible league. The competition format works. As for the game format well that can change to whatever people want in terms of numbers of players or numbers of racks. Hence why I ask for input on any changes at the end of each season.

Arcade Challenge Cup

The Quarter Finals are now due in this competition which is just for a bit of fun (even more so than Super League!!).

Snooker Squad v Ninja Warriors
Uprising v Team Angry
The Professionals v The Underdogs
The Sinners v Fighting Eagles

Please can I have teams of five as soon as possible and ideally by 7pm (UK) tomorrow.

Where teams aren't received players will be drawn at random.

Team Angry were previously withdrawn however if there is a change of heart then just post or message me. If any other team particularly doesn't wish to take part then also just message me to that effect please.

Confirming format again, it is...

2 games of 8 Arcade (2 pts per win plus 2 pts per event)
4 games of 9 Arcade (1 pt per win plus 1 pt per event)

There will be at least two weeks to get games played.

There is no event in 9 arcade though? Or do you mean if you get a golden or a run out then you get a +1
