Moving onwards and upwards, as per at the end of Super League I, two questions...

1) Do people want there to be a Super League III?
2) If its yes, then does anyone want to see any changes?

I am pretty convinced by the competition format, the match formats and the scoring formats. The only issue to me remains the number of players in each tie. Five-a-side is fine but clearly the competition would support any format people wanted.

That said, if people want to stick to just the other two leagues thats fine by me too.

leave it as it is, my only concern is the transfer rules think its fine however maybe if you take someone out of the first phase they can come back in providing they don't move to another clan?

i still rate this as my favourite league though as promotes my style of play which is being on the offensive

As much as ive complained about the transfer rule recently. Love the league and chris you have done a fantastic job I would love to see you do another season I'm hoping the professionals will want to join I want to and will speak to red about it. Keep it going its a fantastic league one of the best run.

Transfer Deadline Rule has already been altered. Unfortunately it would mean running a separate SL Team Changes thread from next season which potentially increases Captains' posting workload by a third!!

Transfer Deadline has to remain for the integrity of the Play-Offs though.

But surely free agents should be allowed to play even if there is a deadline?

I would disagree with free agents joining being allowed to play except in extreme circumstances (e.g. can't field an active team of 5), there's nothing stopping a team "boosting" their squad at the end just to try and win during the knockout stage otherwise.

Players should be able to come back though and be eligible as long as they haven't played for another clan, though the quarantine rule should still affect them to discourage it.

You're right zante ~ to allow free agents to join after the deadline would be wrong and unfair even in extreme circumstances it would be wrong. If a clan can't get 5 active players together out of a possible 16 then maybe they need to think about who they have in their clan

Why is it being changed at all chris?
Looks fine as it is- maybe let players who were part of a team earlier in the season rejoin that same team.

Yes - in effect reverting to how SL1 worked by locking team lists at the point of the Transfer Deadline. Players that decided to leave for pastures new but then u-turned, as happened, would have been locked into a clan for the purposes of Super League so would remain eligible.

Doesn't resolve the issue of not being able to replace a player that doesnt want to play for you anymore but then neither should it. The onus is on a clan to get a stable and sufficient number of reliable players before the deadline takes effect.

Yeah sounds good.
It's clearly the most competitive league with exciting finishes every fixture set. So keep it going! 5 v 5 is fine or maybe 6 v 6. But I don't really see a need to increase it. The bigger you make it, the more it will become like the other leagues.

In order to spread the pre-season work over a longer period of time for ease, any team that wishes to compete in Super League III is welcome to send me their current team lists.

There are no restrictions on player moves until the transfer deadline near the end of the Regular Season.

chris you considered asking admin for your own forum for this? i am sure spinner said in past he may do it if the event is successful for more than one season
