not seen many of these posters actually play killer

I love playing killer, but when I commit myself to winning a tournapoint medal, I could go a week without playing, wouldn't be winning any tournapoints. Therefore, I second the notion for a killer tournament that would award tournapoints. Would be great like a micro, just 1 8man game that starts whether it filled up in the given time or not. I couldn't care less if it gave a tournament win on our stats, but I for one would play a lot more killer if I could get some tournapoints out of it. They could be awarded the same way seems to me, 70% to the winner, 20% to the runner up, and 5% to 3rd and 4th.
I couldn't find if Nick ever gave yes or no on this matter, thought I'd put it back out there. I can't speak for everyone, but anyone I'v chatted with about it likes the idea.

thing is nick can only do 1 v 1 tournament system at the moment, perhaps when nick finally achieves doubles then killer tournaments would be possible as well

I saw where you already said that. I know nothing about computer programming and such, not gonna claim to. But I don't see where this has anything to do with you wanting doubles.

i mean because nick could then do 2 v 2 tournaments, then it would be possible to do 3 v 3, 4 v 4 etc.

Are talking about how it sets up opponents?, giving byes and such to make the number of players work? I don't see where that would be a factor if the killer tournament is only 1 game long.

i know but you need a tournament of 8 people which is like 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 in killer terms and at the moment nick can only do 1 v 1 (Single Elimination).

Like I said, I don't know how it works. It seems to me though that nick could do whatever he wants with the right amount of time and effort. Including the small change of awarding tournapoints to a killer game, without the huge change of bringing in doubles.

it requires lots of coding though (i think anyway), sometimes people ask for stuff and forget the huge coding involved.

e.g. people been asking for foul and miss rule and with the code work involved it might not even be possible

How about we just let nick decide if its worth the effort or not. It comes down to him anyway right?
I was expecting people to just say if they'd like to see it happen or not. I'm not the guy to debate with about how much work it would be lol

Yeah i agree with beenjammin i'd like to see it happen but by what dgen says it looks complicated to setup.

Thanks for seconding the notion, could've done without the but though. lol I hate to sound inconsiderate, but wouldn't any setup complications be nick's problem?

My point is, shouldn't this thread be about whether we want it or not? and not about how hard it would be to do? unless nick came on about it?

Yeah i want it to happen but all i was just saying it doesn't look as straight forward as you may think with only 1 v1 games right now but yeah maybe there's a way of getting round it or maybe what you've said giving byes to make it work is a possibility. Nick rarely comes on though only for updates ain't it ?

When I mentioned byes I was just trying to understand degen. What I'm proposing wouldn't need any byes because it would be just 1 game. Here we are again though talking about how hard it would be , when its really none of our concern.

killer tournaments and doubles have been in talk for over 4 years, my question is if nick wanted it why wasn't it in years ago when the sites was popular?



Edit: i also understood what your saying like if you have 8 man if only 5 showed then its a 5 man and other 3 would be DQ effectively playing for 8 man rankings.

also my personal opinion is there are too many tournaments on the site now

wasnt tournapoints untill recently, which is why I find myself playing less killer

wouldnt be any DQ, the 5 who entered would play for 100 tournapoints

You asked why it wasn't in years ago. Besides the addition of tournapoints giving new reason, it may be that everytime someone made a thread to find out who wants it or not, you were there changing the subject lol

All we can do is tell nick whether we want it or not. Why confuse the thread with a debate about the part that doesnt't concern us?
