I don't see why not and I think it's quite silly to not allow him to do work which the league needs him to do. You would have to see who can volunteer to replace him, then teach them how to do his job and build rapport with them. That all takes time and is pointless really.

You argue that he is banned... from the site. So what? FCL and funkypool are not in anyway affiliated, other than games being played on here. There are seperate bannings for FCL and the site, would you expect someone banned from the FCL to not be allowed to play on funky? of course you wouldn't! so why should it matter the other way round?

The league works because of how the runners manage their tasks, if you starting telling them to do these tasks in a different way to that which they are comfortable to, you run into problems and you aren't helping the league runners.

While it was a one off, there is no problem in keeping things the same. I would understand if this was the 4th or 5th time, but it isn't

It isn't a joke whatsoever, your are arguing in favour of making things pointlessly more difficult for the league - so of course they are going to go against you, that doesn't make the league a joke.

You are getting personal with Jay when you don't personally know him - you don't know his situation so don't pry. You wouldn't get banned for mentioning a banned users name, you would be warned and it is not naming and shaming

What do you ask for when you want league runners james? Someone who is on here regularly is the first thing and as everyone has already said anybody can put 2 sets of players that are already in order together.

i was banned over a year ago now Dgen, not like 2 weeks or how ever long Jay as been banned for, how long before this ban was jay banned and then before that when was the last time jay was banned?

The only connection is it is played here:
moderators have no authority in league matters
league runners don't have moderating powers
bannings are seperate for the league and for the site
etc

basically, the powers of the site have no real sway over the FCL - other than anything based on the site like moderating league comments and vice versa.

Has he ever done anything to hurt the league? No.
All he's doing now is using the generator to randomize and release fixtures quickly. Don't see the problem.

The important thing is though... you have been banned, so it could happen again - some people don't ever get banned being on here years

If he got banned i'm sure he wouldn't expect to carry on running a league that's the point.

haven't you learned anything i don't base it on banned users or how many times people been banned, i based my choice on these things.

my answer to jay was yes and i actually ran it past previous runners such as Aaron (i think), Steph, Kev and all said yes so i don't see the issue?

I think if you want to use jay to generate fixtures then fine dgen but he shouldn't be a league runner while he is banned.

Yes Zante it could happen again i agree but i aint that daft to make a new name then get banned on it after not long since coming back, Jay as been banned 3-5 times now for stupid things BUT Dgen can still trust him when hes been banned 3-5 times for doing something stupid, i dint get any trust from ANYONE when i came back as cutting_edge mainly i got pms of abuse cos people were spreading rumors of how i was banned around funkypool.

Exactly Ipotalot i wouldnt expect to still be a runner if i got banned and if they asked me to carry on i wouldnt carry on anyways as i got banned from funkypool cos of a stupid mistake that i made, id take the time of funkypool to do summat with my life than sit around making fixtures for the clan league

Add to that captains spelling their player's names wrong, etc...
Furthermore, captains sometimes send their teams in alphabetical order- this means that same players tend to face the same players later in the season again, if fixtures aren't randomized.

A lot of people heavily underestimate the amount of effort and time it takes to run this.
