Odds of potting from break with the arcade pockets are high so I think if you have 9ball arcade with the same balls and table as 8ball arcade theres going to be lots of runouts and lots of players losing interest very fast due to not getting shots, theres lots of runouts in 8 arcade, 9 arcade should be easier.

im not tbh, just looks like a zoomed version of the types which are there already which could use some of that time to create doubles which nick was thinking of doing months ago or billiards.

lol, I was only joking about the UK version ipotalot just posted.

I agree to be honest, I think that one arcade version is enough for new users to get started on

I actually can't wait for 9Ball Arcade. Yes, it will be a lot easier to get golden breaks, run outs and just basic clearing up but as stated by Nick in his 1st post...............

This makes potting easier - but of course this is the same for you and your opponent!

He has also already created the graphic and coding for the 9Ball Arcade, surely can't expect him to chuck that away now without us having a shot at it?

I agree, i think although more pots will occur from the break, but remember it is the same for both you and your apponent. The table is in proportion to the balls and the game will still require good skill with regards to the cue ball positioning, like it is for 8 ball arcade

Agreed, not looking forward to all arcade tables. I can see a lot of people playing the first few months whilst the table is new, but once people are making run outs every break, the interest will be lost.

Doubles has been talked about for a good few years now, i can't understand why new tables like the arcade types are brought in before this.

I've scheduled 3 arcades in there now, with one of each 9 ball, 8 ball and 8 ball UK making way. (I don't like the current schedule - tournament structure is currently too complex and irregular.)

It's live, first one on at 10pm (BST) tonight: http://www.funkypool.com/tournaments/54931

Don't expect too many users in the first few though, many newbies atm.

Not quite yet for 9 ball, time to implement and add is minimal but I want to see feedback and take up of 8 ball first. Initial results are very encouraging - it's close to being the most popular game on here (despite not having had any tournaments yet) and the longevity is better than I imagined.

yeah thats because its a new game type so everyone will want to play it, power was great for first month then the novelty started to wear off but because this is a zoomed version of 8 Ball US i can't see it happening as its the easiest type on here.
