From the experience I have had over the years talking to members on the game itself it seems to me that a major issue on the site is lack of features. I think you have already covered a major grey area in the game (which was lack of game variations) by adding US 8 & 9, killer and straight pool, and in my opinion that has been greatly successful.

You see people posting in the Game Queries every day moaning and asking for new features (such as doubles, playing for cash, official leagues etc etc.) and I think that shows why maybe some people are losing interest and leaving. I know a lot of these things are hard to code but I just think too many game variations isn't the right way forward? People on lower resolutions can increase their game interface size can't they? People with low resolution cannot increase their game size really. They can maximize the window, but the window is pretty much maximized already. In theory go into full screen mode but it's not something many new users will try.

I do see your point regarding longevity, but it's not what I was trying to address at this point (although another game option shouldn't hurt here either).

Funkypool is currently suffering from a lack of attracting new users and this of course needs sorting before longevity.

Yeah I see your point, I can remember a time where there used to be at least 400 members online at peak times like now. We only have 190 odd online at the moment. This is also the same case for tournament numbers entrants too, a lot more people used to be playing.

Why do you think this is?

We're lower on search engine results, and this is a big factor. I've tried to adjust this over the last 3 months too - but it's going to take time.

Having the site set up nicely for new users may help balance this - as it would mean more people stay around longer, and hopefully more people link to the site. Whether making an easier initial game is enough, I don't know, but IMO it's the best alteration in this area for the amount of time taken.

I think its fun, regardless of if its for players with a smaller screen.

You've had me 2 and half years ago, me and a friend of mine, both Croatians, both palyed for couple of months.

Then I gave up and still remembered it 5 months ago :) Hard to let go of it once you play a game of 9 ball

Surprised so many people like it sure it's only novelty value though and everyone will drop it in a couple of days. a good edition for mobiles but shouldn't be included in overalls or the tournament list imo.

It's going to be removed from both random tournaments and overall. Both of these were accidentally left on! Their re-inclusion depends on usage and can be considered later. It will have tournaments though.

fantastic new game and all but is anyone else getting rather frustrated with the constant leaving of the 'better' players whilst improving their ranks slaughtering everyone else

its really starting to bug me i just want a couple of games with someone not constant chopping and changing ....

Good inclusion then! Personally wouldn't play it but good if people just fancy a bash about and should get some younger players interested.

It's gonna take a while for rankings to build up so people are playing others around the same level.

but thats not my point, i have played at least 10 games with ppl who have come in played once won adn gone and one person i beat so left in a strop. work that out>???

Animation slow down may occur more on this game. The rendering of the balls table a lot of processing, so the bigger the balls the slower it is. This can occur on setups with slowish CPUs yet big screens and can be resolved by reducing the game size slightly.
