Is that just to have the word 'professional' on your profile and next to your name in game rooms though James? I don't know, I am just trying to find out.

If so, then maybe professional, virtuoso, adept, etc could just stay with you based on your best ever score rather than necessarily your current score? Might even give you a better idea of your opponent's true or potential ability without flicking to their profile. Better to prepare for the worst case scenario then anything less is a bonus.

In tournament title - as per 8 ball tournament at 9am this morning.

James - there must be a reason why 800 though - if you were to maintain the word professional on your profile as having attained it then the 800 number itself would be irrelevant?

In reality though a ranking table should be a fluid table not static.

the option to keep people on 800.0 is because not everyone has time to play, with the 0.25 each day (1.75) points dropped a week it was brought in i believe for those who work. It's also not been added to 900.0 so people cant stop at the top but i do feel taking the 800.0 away will be a bit of a disapointment to some people.

Personally i think it should stay at 800.0 only and not be changed/removed.

If Nick decides to go for 100% ranked tournaments and reduced points for ranked games why not reset every player who is currently active (keeping their existing tourny wins and game stats) but ranking down to 675 for each format.

Then everyone in same boat and see who emerges in top ten. I would'nt mind and it would be fun to see how things pan out. My bet is top ten players would look fairly similar in each format to what they do now........

Would it be possible to not display the ranked tournament games when searching for ranked games?

Why would you want to specifically want to filter ranked tournament results?

What I mean is when I was searching for a 9 ball ranked game to join earlier all of the 9 ball ranked tournament games were there, and I had to search through them all to find a ranked game to join.

This may be true in some peoples opinion yet they exclude newbies from clans so i dont see why it would be a big problem

I think the problem is that It looks terribly messy and flooded if you are not involved in the tournament and looking for a ranked game.

Rankings give long term goals and tournaments give short term knock outs like the Premiership and the FA Cup.
We already got a ranked system with ranking tables so why ruin the cups by making them more than a knock out.

I like tournaments because theres no more to it than a straight fight to the death and they are a release from ranked games. Making tournies ranked makes everything exactly the same and spoils tournies a bit.

Personally, I am not a fan of the ranked tournaments. There are 3 distinct forms (friendly, ranked and tournament) of play, which give the player enough options in my opinion. It just seems to be a bit of a gimmick to me. However, nick should be credited for trying new things and I am sure he will glad for the feedback, positive or negative. Not for me, but just my two cents.

As you can see more than half of the games played have been in Us8 or 9 ball, however at first there was a strong opposition to 9 ball, these facts above prove to me that in time people forget about the opposition to the new games brought in. I strongly suspect this will be the same with tournaments, I don't have access to average amounts of players per tournament but could work it out over the last 24 hours (but I wont as I dont have time). However I believe that given a month the average amount of players will still be the same should they all be ranked.

I dont like the ranked tournies at all...rather not have it on fp..but if its here to stay then heres my idea.

Dependin on whos playin who through the tourny, someone could win the tourny but end up with less rankin points than when they started, doesnt make sense.

Would make more sense if there was a set point scorin system, e.g. win and get +2points, lose and get -2points regardless of what each others ranks actually are

Just watched a game, player lost the first game, got -5, won the next 2 to take them through and got +1 for each win. This doesnt seem right IMO
