a red, red rose :) (return of me in the poems)
O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry:
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only Luve,
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' it ware ten thousand mile.
O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry:

And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
I will luve thee still, my dear,

And fare thee weel, my only Luve,
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' it ware ten thousand mile.

The Valentine Scam
All hail mighty Hallmark, for their profit made today,
Selling thousands of romantic cards, to people in the UK.
Some lovely cards at A4 size, with teddy bears at hand,
Dozens of roses delivered to homes, and offices in the land.
One day in the calendar year, all centred round one word,
An expectation to show your feelings, is sadly so absurd.
The typical routine for the day, chocolate, dinners and gifts,
Employees of the Hallmark stores all working double shifts.
But here is my opinion, on this one day of the year,
We're everybody in the world is forced to act sincere.
If you truly love someone, you should remind them all the time,
It takes more than a piece of card to win this heart of mine.
Little things are all that count, to show a girl you care,
Looking after her when she is sick, and holding back her hair.
Helping out with household chores, spending time alone,
Taking time out for just her, and speaking on the phone.
So Happy Valentine's day to you, here's an imaginary rose,
And a card with the Yellow Pages boy, reaching for a kiss on his toes.
I hope you enjoy your present, for I didn't have time for a meal,
I got the red rose for two ninety-nine, so Valentine's Day was a steal!

The Ballad of Bob and Suzi
Suzi remembered, when the wind blew from the west,
And Bob would smile at her with a glow on his face.
With a checkered blue shirt, buttoned up to the chest,
Carrying his old guitar case.
Whatever the weather, come rain or shine,
Adventure was there to be found.
Wandering the country, with bags full of time,
Walking over mysterious grounds.
Bob would play songs, round a fire at night,
As Suzi would rest her head on his thigh.
All of a sudden a star would take flight,
Shooting across the night sky.
One day Bob walked, as Suzi slept alone,
Early when the sun rose at dawn.
Remember that young Bob was accident prone,
And that every rose has a thorn.
As the sun rose, and a little gust blew,
Bob discovered a traveler's way.
It was blocked by some rocks, but with a hole to fit through,
And the edges were softened by clay.
Bob just squeezed through, and stood up in this cave,
Lighting a match, so that he could see.
To his sheer horror, he found two empty graves,
One dusty headstone carved with 'Su-Zi'.
The other was blank, and with a fright he turned round,
Destined to get back to his wife.
He sprinted back toward her over unstable ground,
Faster than he'd ever ran in his life.
Suddenly he slipped, and the rock had gave way,
And with a hand, hung over a drop that was deep.
He cried and he whimpered overcome by dismay
As young Suzi laid fast asleep.

Wander if anyone else writes on here?
Recently, I've hardly seen more than one post.
I imagine that maybe one day I'll hear
That this thread has turned into a ghost.
Everyday I look here, although I am fairly new,
A poem to read would be so sweet.
Please post a poem, written only by you,
Oh a few more rhymes would be so neat.
Everyday I'll be here, with patience galore,
Mercilessly waiting, for a poet to post more.

well we do have our moments,
all rhymes are my own,
i never feel precious,
and i don't like to moan,
so whenever i'm ready,
that's in my own time,
only then mr poem,
will i write a few lines.
see i don't feel the pressure,
the urge it just comes,
when i feel like it,
i'll get a few done,
so patience my friend,
with practice you'll see,
i write when i feel it,
coming naturally.

Well, thank you Mr Hippesville, for letting me know,
I shall wait eagerly for your rhymes.
Understandably I see, that you wait for the urge,
To finally pen down some lines.
I also get the urge, albeit more frequently,
Like a whippet running out of the trap.
This thread will be seeing a lot more of me,
But to you I do take off my cap.
For me this is a place that I may express myself,
A laughable hobby to my peers.
But unknowingly to them, I have a huge wealth,
Of stuff I've been writing for years.
Not that its written down, I make them up on the spot,
So forgive any poor poems I implore.
The secret is my friend, I've seen these threads a whole lot,
As I've written many poems here before.
But that was an age ago, under a different name,
One that was once seen here time after time.
I'm just glad to see that the site is the same,
As this thread was a favourite of mine.

Hey there my old chum, I think the time is now here,
To stop hiding behind my username and make everything clear.
It seems from this site, I just couldn't stay away,
And recently I've been showing up here everyday.
I returned last week, and thought it would be nice,
To come back to this thread, and add a little more spice.
To my delightful surprise, it seems you are still here,
Which put a nervous grin on my face, but not one of fear.
Anticipation's built up, as it's been so long,
And turning up out of the blue, could maybe be wrong.
So with a new profile, I've kept the cards to the chest,
Without saying I was here, acting more like a guest.
But then today, I felt back at home with a thrill,
After a responsive poem was posted by Hippesville.
I feel now is the time, to come back with a blast,
And not shy away from our marvelous past.
A lot of time's elapsed, since I was here all the time,
When this site was a secret garden of mine.
Then I moved on, had some growing up to do,
Three years at uni, and a year's teaching course too.
But I've finally settled, home really is the heart,
And I'm feeling prepared, to make a new start.
The old days are gone, and surely I've changed,
To be back on here, still feels really strange.
So bear with me now, only while I adjust,
I know you'll understand, and give me your trust.
So hello again Paula, I'm sure you guessed it was me,
It's fantastic to see you, from your dearest pal Ste.
